Kind of reminds me of a tart apple juice. Tastes like a cider at first and then the flavor seems to stop cold. Finish is a little skunky and acidic. Ineresting stuff. Not great, but then again not bad. haukur (684), Reykjavik, Iceland
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Oct 6, 2006 a somewhat very strange beer. Pale yellow, with a very thick head, which turns to a small cloak of foam. Aroma is everything but great, dishwasher, chemical, maybe a bathroom cleaner, mixed with a small amount of wheat. Taste is far from the aroma, sour but has a thick palate, very citrusy, refreshing! Although it´s not big on the abv, this is a massive beer, and really interesting style. Cant wait to sample Schultheiss.... hotstuff (3175), Indiana, USA

Small off-white fizzy head that mostly diminished, minimal lacing, no visible carbonation, mosty transparent, and a straw yellow hue. Sweet, fruity, citrusy aroma. Flavor was sweet, lemony and somewhat citrusy. Tingly palate. Light body. Bland and blah. Kiapepito (111), Port Angeles, Washington, USA

Clear light gold scotch-looking body with a thin white head. Light sour wheat spilled on a carpet. Its weird; gets better the more I sniff, but its light. Sour bland taste. Light water with a tablespoon or two of lemon juice thrown in, along with some wheat adjunct. Blah. Flavor isn’t too bad, but its still just blah. ALLOVATE (1126), Perth, Australia

Couldn’t leave Berlin without a taste of this. Unfortunately it’s not the classic I expected. Unblended and straight from the chilled tap it was a thin-looking, yellowy straw in colour with a few fine streams of bubbles raising up to a tight, thin pad of cream that barely held but legged the glass well. Zingy, tickly, lemon sherbet, lemon cordial and dusty, powdered wheat nose, short-lived. A little too fizzy in the mouth and quite light in body. Bounces like soda across the palate but becomes a little pasty in mouthfeel as it warms. Lemony sour, zingy candi and wheat flavours are predominant, quite astringent in the back but it’s overall sweetish on the tongue. Finish is sour, candyish, clean with little length showing. It is quite refreshing stuff, but seems too simplistic, too straightforward. henry3r (586), Wichita, Kansas, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Sep 17, 2006 The 11.1 oz bottle poured an almost clear golden straw colored beverage with a small fizzy white head that was completely gone in 30 seconds and left no lacing on the glass. The aroma was dominated by sour fruit with some malt notes, toast and bread dough. There were no hop notes detectable. The body was medium light with lively carbonation and a dry, watery texture (if that makes any sense). The flavor starts with a pronounced sour taste. It almost made me pucker. The finish is quite dry and medium in length. Through the finish, the sourness softens as it ages on the palate. bbheiney (1), The Woodlands, Texas, USA does not count | 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 10/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 16, 2006 This is a summer beer. In Germany it is served with a shot glass of either Raspberry syrup (which you mix into the beer) or a green syrup ( I assume it’s mint. I’ve never been able to find out). It’s refreshing on a really hot day. If drunk staight out of the bottle, it tastes horribly sour. Best beer I’ve ever tasted second only to Hacker Pschor Oktoberfest
