Compact and adherent head, good persistence. Yellow straw-like in color, a lot bright, fizzy and lightly veiled. Unbalanced and strongly scent of must, clear grape... much acid. Extremely prickly taste, nearly excessive. A concentrated grape’s juice, a lot perfumed and extremely sour. Light bitter on the end. Fish (439), Kure, Japan
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 2, 2005 This stuff is really exciting! Nice tart flavor reminds me of a lambik. Tart, grassy, some faint malts on the finish. Very nice, understated aroma. Lemon, raspberry. My first Berliner Weisse. dwyerpg (2537), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 18, 2005 It’s easy to see why this beer scores so low overall, mainly because people can’t take the extreme sour flavoring. Just tastes like sour apples straight up. And I like sour flavoring. But it is better with the syrups. tjthresh (1770), Greenfield, Indiana, USA
| 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/20 | Nov 16, 2005 Best before 0307. Extreme effervesence. Huge white fizzy head that fade as quickly as it is formed. Hazy straw yellow. All that can really be said about the aroma is sour wheatiness. Medium sourness, vinegar, and wheaty. Light body, thin feel, fizzy across the tongue. Berliner weissa is one of the question mark styles for me. I question why any body would enjoy this bee. tlitt2 (58), Lexington, Kentucky, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 13, 2005 I noted the strange aroma like many other tasters. Smells like white grape juice. Slight tingle when first touches your lips. Upfront very sour, mellows as it finishes into something sweeter. Like drinking "warheads" candy in a beer. This is myt first of this style. I liked it’s cutting acidity- quite refreshing. But, not much going on besides that. Still, a very interesting brew, hopefully I can get a hold of others in this style. | 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Nov 9, 2005 330 ml bottle, bought in Bier Spezi Hamburg. ABV is 2.7%. I had no raspberry syrup available, so I drank it straight. Extremely pale straw coloured, nearly clear, just a very slight haziness. Enormous to moderate head. Unusual funky aroma - sea water / seaweed, notes of barnyard, horseblanket and rotting citrus. Very sour / acidic flavour, but not as extreme as I expected. Lemony notes. Light bodied, watery mouthfeel despite the acidity. Refreshing, but I find very little complexity here. Moderate lemony aftertaste. 11026 (1799), Alabama, USA

Pours a clear light golden color with a nice sized white head that fades to a small layer of bubbles over the liquid. Aroma is a little funky, slight mustiness. LIght bodied, decent carbonation. Light amounts of acidity, some dryness. Moderate wheat beer qualities in flavor. Very moderately puckering. Fair beer. Ray1975 (251), Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, USA
