Mild aroma, but there are certain aromas of sour lemonness in the nose. Transparent pale straw color with a white head. Sour, funky, astringent, dry Not overly sour like a Cantillon. A unique beer that’s decent naked. Apparently, it’s common to drink this mixed with some sort of sweetened additive in Germany. TBone (6756), Pori, Finland

Pale yellow, small white head. Slightly sour and grassy nose. Light-bodied, sourish, like drinking lemon water. Long sour aftertaste. Personal but not very enjoyable style. sayravai (3733), Helsinki, Finland

Sourish aroma with a very strong canned mushrooms scent. Sourish and acidic mushroom and lemon flavor. Light-bodied, dryish and sour, sticky palate. Interesting, but not very pleasant. Now I see why this one is typically blended with additives. Shag (1923), Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Apr 3, 2005 This could single handedly be the oddest drinking/ordering a beer experience ever. I was caught off guard when asked if I want the red or green syrup. Well I went with red. Anyway a murky yellow color with a sharp sour lemon aroma. The flavor is tart and funky with some apples mainly. Once I poured the red syrup in there it was a sour cherry fruit beer and a bit cloying. Now I want to go to Germany and be a bad ass at the bar by ordering my 2.5% ABV beer and getting cherry syrup. Vac (2389), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Mar 29, 2005 My first Berliner Weisse. Not bad actually...it pours with a very pale yellow body topped by a medium thick head with a good amount of lacing. The aroma and flavor are slightly sweet and slightly sour with a touch of lemon...different. Light bodied, crisp and dry. Terminus (1955), Las Cruces, New Mexico, USA
