Flavour was quite sour, crisp and sharp, very refreshing. Medium body and carbonation. Very interesting. Finish was medium length and sour. Pretty good but I like a good sour beer. heemer77 (4312), Savannah, Missouri, USA

Very bright gold with a medium head. Smells like a green bean casserole. The taste is a funky, sour, rotten orange. Aftertaste is like sharp cheddar cheese. This is dry and almost crisp, like a lambic. However, I find the sourness to be unbalanced with little else to taste in the beer. The bulk of this went down the drain. beerbuzzmontreal (2931), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 10, 2004 Pours a golden color with a medium but fugaceous head. Strong and sour aroma of wheat and citrus. The flavor is sour, grassy, sour, fruity (citrus) and sour ! Light body, dry texture, lively carbonation. My first experience of a "straight" berliner weisse, not bad but I guess there are better berliner than this one. FlacoAlto (2482), Tucson, Arizona, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Aug 5, 2004 Pours a lightly hazy yellow-straw color and is topped by a white head and a fairly low level of carbonation. A sour lemony aroma rises up to my nose. There is a hint of complexity in the nose, some herbal grassiness perhaps. This is very dry, and not nearly as sour as I was hoping. It is quite soft up front, but has a sharp sourness in the finish that is reminiscent of fresh lemonade. Though light bodied, there is a certain amount of creamy fullness to this beer. Certainly this is nice and refreshing, but lacks a certain complexity that I like and can be found in Schultheiss’ version. obisbeer (558), Barcelona, Spain
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jul 19, 2004 Light slightly hazy yellow with fine brilliant white head. Baked gooseberry and malt acid notes on the nose. Sour! Lemon, musty, light prickle, with some bread aromas, and a short finish. This is traditionaly served witha syrup from my understanding, I think it might need it to balance it out. Suttree (2743), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA

Wheat and Geurze mix of flavors. thin bodied and easily quaffable, I find this an incredibly quenching beer. Has a nice sour and lemony flavor throughout. Gusler (2655), Tucson, Arizona, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 2, 2004 The beer after disemboguing from the 11.1 ounce light brown bottle into my Berlin Kindl Weisse glass a somewhat luteolous color, the head is modest in size and evaporates quickly leaving a velum like film to cover the glass. Nose is citrus crisp, sweet and sour, light hints of yeast, start is quite sour as I tried it with out the syrup, light malt profile, the top skimpy in its feel. Finish is astringent, dry as a desert bleached bone, the hops quite mild, all in all not a bad, maybe I need to add a touch of Raspberry syrup as I was advised. | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jun 25, 2004 Sampled with raspberry (Himbeer) syrup added. Faint aroma, mostly just wheat, as it warms a little wet hay aroma shows up. Sweet and sour flavor, don’t actually get much from the beer, just the raspberry flavor of the syrup. Light body, quite refreshing. Decent summer beer.
