Labeled as Bernard Dark in US

Strong black lager. It's a special dark lager produced from five types of malt with a striking full flavour and light bitterness. Its special flavour makes it unique on the Czech beer market.

Black with an off-white head. Roast aroma with some caramel, somewhat weak. Roast and dry flavour, with a lingering roastiness. Quite possibly my favourite Cerné, a style I enjoy a lot.

Bottled. Dark amber colour, small beige head. Aroma is fruits, slight dark fruits, malts and hops. Flavour is the same, and overall quite sweetish. Aftertaste has some hoppy bitterness in it.

Bottle @ Chris_o shindig 2007. Clear medium red / brown color with a small to average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, light brown head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, light coffee. Flavor is moderate sweet and light bitter with a average duration. Body is medium to light, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft.

very dark, nice head. Flavours reminiscent of roasted malt, undelined by a fruity hoppyness. Quite a dry beer, with its chocolate and coffee flavours it reminds me of stouts/porters.

Draught. Near-black dark brown, smallish beige head. The pub was full of cigarette-smoke so I could hardly smell anything, but as far as I could tell, the aroma was of a fairly pleasant dry, malty kind. Smooth chocolaty flavor of moderately roasted malt, on a dry hop background. Creamy chocolate aftertaste. Very stoutlike, in fact. Yum! Smooth, slightly creamy mouthfeel, medium body, moderate carbonation. A very pleasant surprise indeed!

Bottle. Brown color, frothy, brown lasting foam. Aroma is very hoppy with hints of caramel and vanilla, coffee and chocolate... Flavor is roasted, chocolate and caramel with a nice sweetness and light bitter finish. Not as sweet as other dunkels.
