(Draught at Soldaten Svejk, Stockholm, 10 Mar 2007) Dark brown colour with huge pale brown head. Roasted nose with notes of milk chocolate, chocolate mousse and raisins. Roasted taste with chocolate, liquorice and slight hints of smoke or tar. Medium body, some chocolatey sweetness. One of the best czech dunkels, less sweet and more chocolate and liquorice than most others.

The color is almost black and the head light brown. The aroma is malty and the mouthfeel is a bit oily with notes of dark and bitter licorice and chocolate, so the bitterness is nice. I wouldn’t mind a bit more complexity, but it’s nice.

Gold/Amber body with no head. Aroma is heavy honey, caramel, wheat, and a bit of candy to it. Taste is sweet with brown sugar, nice malt backbone, interesting beer, has a bit of almond and hazelnut to it.

Bottle 0.5L. Dark brown colour with a large, creamy, light-brown head, mostly lasting with an excellent lacing. Heavy malt aroma (caramel and maybe nuts) and light hoppy character; notes of raisin. The heavy sweet moderate bitter flavour and of the beginning develops towards a higher degree of bitternes; long bitter finsh with notes of licorice and peppery feeling on the tongue. Medium body with an oily texture; soft carbonation and light metallic feeling in the finish. Very good beer: complex and interesting, without the alcoholic character present in stronger beers of the same level of complexity.

Draught, GBBF, August 2006, Day 2. Dark brown with a beige head. Distinctly malty, with touches of chocolate and liquorice, but manages to remain clean and fresh too. Not a lot more to say really, but a quite nicely done brew.

On tap at Řlbaren. Very dark brown with a tan head. Roasted and malty with some berry notes. OK but a bit too mild.

(Draught@William K Kurvi, Helsinki) Roasted malty, slightly coffee and slightly metallic aroma. Dark brown colour with a hint of red, average size, light brownish, slightly lasting head. Roasted malty, sweet and slightly licorice flavour. Softly carbonated, medium-bodied and dry palate. Very good dunkel! 20/10/06
