Commercial Description:
Labeled as "Amber Lager" in USA

Bernard’s Amber Lager is a unique half-dark lager produced by an original brewing recipe of the Barnard’s Family Brewery. The light caramel-type malt endows this beer with a balanced bitter taste, fine toffee aroma, and full body.

A deep red beer with an OK head. The aroma is sour malty with notes of hops. The flavor is boring with notes of caramel and a dry end.

(Bottle 50 cl) A dark golden lager and rather unlike anything Czech I’ve had before - resembles a "Gl. Carlsberg Lager". Not sweet but fresh and quenching although not terribly aromatic.

Sampled draught at Soldaten Svejk, Stockholm, Sweden.
Deep ruby with very firm, rich head. Slight grassy, soapy and oily aroma. Medium sweet and medium bodied with a vague touch of toffee. Discrete, clean finish with just a hint of late bitterness.

Cherrywood colour. Malty flavour - toffee. Very smooth. Some pale malt mixed in there. A hint of milk chocolate complements this nicely.

500ml bottle. Deep chestnut with lasting beige head. I like this, good roast toast malts, some toffee, but not too dominant. Hops on end provide a drying finish. Bit of coffee. Nice.
