DYCSoccer17 (2049), Davis, California, USA Jun 22, 2004 Sweet, smoky and especially brown sugar aroma. Moderately hazy dark copper color with quickly dissipating light tan head. Smooth start with sweet middle, finishing with a smokey caramel malt finish with a small hop kicker. An enjoyable amber. KingPinHead (390), Des Moines, Washington, USA Jun 16, 2002 Nice copper-amber color and just a tad hazy...head is moderate frothy off-white with lingering lace. This has a complex malty aroma with light floral hop presence--quite inviting. The flavor is nicely rounded, well-balanced between malts and the assertive hop profile that features slightly fruity overtones. The finish is slightly dry with loitering malt flavors that hint of caramel. This is a most drinkable spring brew--but one whose character reflects the winter just past rather than the summer on the forward horizon. This is very nicely balanced and with a most interesting combination of flavors and aromas. harlequinn (2746), Tacoma, Washington, USA Mar 18, 2004 I actually found this one to be quite enjoyable. Medium bodied and refreshing. This could be my new session beer. Pours a light brown color with a small tan head, that leaves behind some really creative lacing. Flavor is toffee and bread with some caramel and just enough hoppiness to have a bit of bite and character. Tasty. DCopperfields (144), USA Apr 1, 2004 "An unfiltered ale" it says on the label. It looks unfltered, as it is cloudy, amberish and withj little head. Lace is spotty. Aroma? I get hops. Taste is hoppy right up front, albeit with a semi-strong malt backbone riding on a mouthfeel which is a touch week. Finishes biscuity and drily. Nice beer. pauliefrog99 (302), FLINT, Michigan, USA Jul 27, 2002 Copper amber color. Hazy. The hops and malts blend well in this beer. A little bit of caramel flavor in the finish. Also a bit fruity.
