hopscotch (4679), Vero Beach, Florida, USA Apr 18, 2005 Bottle... Clear copper ale with a brief appearance made by a small, fizzy, egg shell head. Smells and tastes more malty than hoppy... this is not a bad thing in my book. I enjoy the rich, caramel, toasty malts and mild, citrusy cascade hops. Well-balanced. Medium-bodied and chewy with moderate carbonation. Crisp finish. More reminiscent of an Epa than an Apa. Those fresh cascade hops don’t smell or taste all that fresh as the bottle proclaims. Still, a quality brew. JPDIPSO (4344), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA Oct 28, 2002 Tawny amber color with a quick fading light tan head. Floral orange aroma. Flavors of orange citric hops with a dark caramel backbone. Definite english yeast influence. A change of pace from yur average APA. heemer77 (3827), Savannah, Missouri, USA Oct 3, 2004 Deep amber coloring with lnumerous bubbles sticking to the sides of my tulip glass. A thin white head lasts a long time. Aroma is dirst, grass, malts, caramel and a little bit of honey. The taste is fairly thin and has some nice cinnamn bread character. The taste also has a little bit of honey taste and some weird cardboard taste in the finish. The hops come out a little more as it warms and it becomes slightly nutty and peppery. Overall an ok APA that is a little too reserved in it’s flavor. Tmoney99 (3740), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Mar 15, 2005 Bottle. Poured reddish brown color with an average frothy white head that diminished slowly. Aroma was a heavy hoppy with a small hind of pine. The flavor was moderate sweet with combo of sweet and bitter average finish.
