| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 22, 2006 Had at ABC fest and then again at Newtwon Brewfest. Pours a nice amber to deep amber with a nice frothy off white head. Aroma is sticky sweet with hints of roast, smoke and light peat and gets a bit medicinal as it warms. Some darker roasted malts, with caramel flavors and even some slight chocolate nad nuttiness. Fully body and decent mouthfeel with a good lingering finish. Pretty good Scotch ale. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 30, 2005 At the works on draught. Aroma primarily of smoke and roast malt. Arrived a dark red amber with a decent head. Flavor followed what the aroma described a roast malt with some smoke hints. Palate was medium bodied. Overall not bad but not a real complex brew. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 25, 2005 A good red color. Had a medicinal cherry flavor, like Robitussin. Maybe a little too sweet. The palate was acidic and the finish medicinal - neither of which is to say that the brew was unenjoyable. I think that this is better drunk slowly and on its own rather than being part of a sampler. radiomgb (2042), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada
