Commercial Description:
Deep red amber colored, full-bodied, with a residual malt sweetness and hoppy flavor. This is an all-around Brew Works favorite. A great Yeungling “Lager” alternative. This british style ale contains a special blend of Cluster, Fuggle, and East Kent Golding hops.

Pours a medium amber and a thin white long lasting head. Low carbonation. Aroma is moslty malty with some crystal and toasted malts, backed up by a lot of earthy and slightly floral hops. Flavor is slightly fruity but is balanced with a lot of smooth delicate light crystal malts. Nice light hoppy finish.

Very thin head. Nice dark amber/red color. Bitter taste at the end. Some spices noted at the beginning. Not like other ESB’s I’ve had. A good beer, but this one was a little weak.

Not much like other ESB’s i’ve had. The bitterness was well into the aftertaste which was kinda nice. Also had a bit of a spicy taste. went down good with my burger.

08.03.05 Tap at brewpub. Caramel colored, thin beige head. Aroma is buttery cracker with apricot jam, which would be nice if this was a cracker with jam. Some crystal, lots of fuggles, lots of butter. Not good, and seemingly old...a definite theme with this brewery.

Draught at State College 8th Annual Festival. Some rye aroma, light fruity malt with a bit of biscuit. Not much hops coming through in the bouquet. Medium amber clear liquid with white foamy head. Light bodied with medium-heavy carbonation. Starts dry with some mild malt flavor and carbonic tang. Nice bittering toward the end with dry light chalky finish. An average bitter.

From the tap at BBW. Amber orange medium body with a thin head. Sweetish flavor of caramel and fruits.

On tap at the Bethlehem Brew Works Brew Pub. Poured a medium copper color with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas and tastes of caramel malts, light flowers and a little fruity. Medium sweet. Better than I expected since being billed as a ’great Yeungling Lager alternative’.
