| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 26, 2007 Draft @ Allentown Brew Works, pre-BCTC beerventure. Pours a dark brown center; light tan head with good lacing. Roasted and chocolate character in the aroma. Medium-to-full, well-roasted mouthfeel: lively carbonation, with a dense, dried fruit chewiness that gives this porter some oomph; nutty, brown sugar malts coming through at mid-palate and afterwards. Lengthy, nutty and lightly chocolaty finish. obxdude10 (1563), Pottstown, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 12, 2009 This porter was by far the best that I sampled on my recent trip to the Allentown Brew Works. Of course, the Hop Explosion was actually the best, but I discounted it because I already tasted it several times at the original location in Bethlehem. So the Porter wins on this particular trip. It pours a very dark brown color, almost black. The head is light brown and leaves a good amount of lacing around the glass. The nose is full of chocolate, caramel, coffee and lightly toasted bread. The flavors are deep, with a lot of the same notes from the aroma. The coffee flavor kicked in quite a bit more toward the finish. This was a very excellent porter. egajdzis (3640), Spring Mount, Pennsylvania, USA
