Taste is thin bodied and almost nauseating, artificial pumpkin flavor to go along with a flat hop profile. I I write any more, I would have to taste it again and Im not interested. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 24, 2005 I quite liked this beer. It was moderately spicy and fairly pumpkiny (if that’s a word). The beer’s malt body was adequate. I respect this brewer for cranking out a Lambic. Enjoyed both at NYC’s BrewTopia fest. ClarkVV (3578), Allston, Massachusetts, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Nov 19, 2005 Updated: Jan 23, 20062005 bottle. Big thanks to Zathrus for the bonus! Consumed on 11/9/05. Typical Weyrebacher bottled appearance, clear and filtered, that is, with a fairly rapidly dissipating dirty-sand colored white head built on forced carbonation. Body is a medium auburn-amber, with some lighter yellow tinges. Heavy amount of bubbles rising. Aroma of light pumpkin meat and a moderate amount of cinnamon and allspice. Caramel and light graininess noted without a syrupy sweetness and also lacking an overspiced nature which can be off-putting in these beers. Flavor is not overspiced, and the malt creates a medium-light body at best, but the flavors bring mild pumpkin and light cinnamon-sugar toast. Sweetness is clean and round. As willblake says, the beer starts out well-enough, but comes apart as you get farther in. I found notes of alcohol and a light dirty metallic note. Carbonation is peppery, mouthfeel is lightly papery, not enough malt sugars, though it’s not terribly watery overall. bigrond (1055), factoryville, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Nov 14, 2005 a decent pumpkin ale -not the best by any means but not to bad either. A nice mild pumkpin flavor- goes down real smooth and well pumpkiny. willblake (2187), Belcamp, Maryland, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Nov 13, 2005 11.13.05 Bomber bottle. Pale copper color below lofty, off-white head of fine foam. Steady, visible carbonation. Aroma is straight pumpkin pie with lots of spice -- mostly clove, also nutmeg and cinnamon -- some biscuity yeast, and sugary graham cracker. Flavor is at first mildly spicy and soft with definite notes of pumpkin pie filling, the store bought stuff. About midway through it starts coming apart. A peppery, lagery yeast note comes in and flees as a watery body and sweetness takes over. Finishes with a lingering spice and little else. Overall, drinkable but disappointing, it seems to lack direction...that must be hard to do with a beer that states its direction in the name, pumpkin ale. | 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Nov 12, 2005 Large bright white head of fine bubbles. Nice and creamy on top. Decent carbonation. Spicy aroma with gingerbread, cinnamon, nutmeg and a soft something aroma ???. Color is a light orange. Flavor is pretty thin with more spices. Much more subdued that the aroma though. Pretty weak and watery. Needs some more malts for body. Clean dry finish with a little lingering spice. Not a very good pumpkin ale. alobar (1032), Harleysville, Pennsylvania, USA
