Volo – Cask Fest 2009
Appearance: lightly hazed amber ale , rocky top.
Nose: sweet fruity front , touch of cask with hops. Creamy top.
Flavor/Palate : mid bodied , not as clean presented as it could be. Woody , chewy feel with fruit accents. Forgettable.

Cask at Bar Volo Cask Days 2009. Cloudy ochre colour. Malty sweet aroma with noticeable wood. Hoppy bitter and malty sweet flavours with wood and vanilla.

Cask. At Volo Cask Days 2009. Hazy orange with a small frothy head. Aroma of damp newsprint, butter and stale dried flowers - wants to be sweet, doesn’t even hit that mark. Tastes of orange juice, paper, alcohol and generic herbal something or other. Thick-bodied, slightly acidic, ultimately a jumbled glass of meh.

[2571-20091031] Cask. Sweet rhubarb leafy green fruit aroma with mild citrus hints. Hazy, medium orange brown body with a quick bubbly white head. Vanilla oak and sweet wood panels flavour. Medium body. Lots of vanilla wood barrel, average though.

Volo Cask Days 2009. You can tell they used alot of hops in this beer, the aroma proves it, there are some good citric aromas, that smell promissing. The flavor though is an oaky, woody, hoppy, mess. The wood just killed this beer, it does not go well with the hops at all. It was a sweet woody mess.

Cask Days 2009 @ Bar Volo, Toronto, ON: I think my Tweeted review is worthy of being posted as is, it says it all: Weird aroma of sour milk and almonds, fondant. Odd. Very sweet flavour, buttery.. Melted butter. Wtf? WTF indeed.

2009-10-31. Murky golden body, near headless. Aroma is quite wood, giving the impression of fresh oak. Mild hops and fruit notes struggle to get out from below the wood. 5+ Flavour is similarly wood dominant, touch of vanilla goes with the oak here. Muted hops, dry citrus quick toasty malt before more wood. 6+ Average plus palate. Okay but the base beer does not really stand up to the oak as well as it might. Cask at Volo Cask Days 2009

2009 Cask Days at Volo. Not too tasty IPA, sourish, and avoided by other patrons, now I know. Average mouthfeel in body, looks OK though light colour. No aroma.
