After the beer was served in the glass there was found a lasting quantity not wall adhesive white foam collar which was fine and evenly of structure. The beer also contained much carbonic acid in the glass. The beer has a thick light amber color and a sweet taste. The after tast of the beer is light hoppy bitter with a lemon acid touch. This beer smells lemmonly.

Bottle 75cl. @ home.
Unclear medium yellow amber color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is light to moderate malty, wheat, toasted, fruity, light yeasty, fruity. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is creamy to watery, carbonation is soft. [20090407]

Draught, 5.5% at the brewpub. No aroma. Hazy yellow colour. Creamy white head, semi-stable. The flavour is quite subtle. The usual hint of coriander with citrus in the finish. Not very flavourful, but clean enough.

Bottle@BlindTastingSession. Sweet aroma with citrus, apple and some spices when warming up. Yellow color, off-white head, cloudy, fair lace. Very sweet, sour at first but this diminishes, light bitter, apple, bubblegum and flat mouthfeel. Unbalanced.

Bottle 0,75ltr: Pretty good version of a great style but now from the Brabant city of Breda. Hazy yellow thirstquenching hefe weizen.

Dark yellow cloudy appearance. Aroma is not strong but a little sharp and yeasty. It’s tangy, sharp and refreshing. Very cleansing on the pallet making it easy to drink. Only a background hint of banana in the flavour.

A great attempt to recreate a German hefe weizen. It fails as the yeast is nowhere near complex enough to deliver the flavours of a Bavarian weizen, but it would show Erdinger up as the rubbish it now is in a direct comparison. The Beyerd have really found a talented brewer who is delivering the quality standards of large breweries on a tiny kit.
