Bottle from SL. Pour was amber/red-brownish blend, silent bottle opening but a small head yielded with the pour. The aroma was strong sour cherries and some grapes along with a bit of a brown malt base of caramel (think oud bruin style of sours). More subtle hints of oak were present and a sweet-tart type of character was there too. The flavor developed all of what the aroma had present, while also introducing a firm tart/sour bite that was pretty gentle once adjusting from the previous beer. This certainly was no Cantillon-disruptive product (in a very good way). Mouthfeel was full and smooth, some definite acidity. Pretty nice stuff except for the price.

Bottle. Pours a red-brown, very cloudy liquid with floats. Aroma is quite acidic with some candy and cherries. Taste is acidic, fruity and really nice with some yeast and wood. Really special, really good.

Bottle, 75cl 2008 vintage, courtesy of Plovmand. It pours a hazy, orange body with no head or carbonation. Caramel aroma with citric fruits and brett. Some alcohol as well. Sweetness, caramel, citrusy sourness and brett in the mouth. Warming, full-bodied and nicely carbonated. Astringent and palate-cleansing. Acidic and malty finish. A quite lovely sour. 090822

Tap@The Dome. Hazy deep red with no head at all. The aroma is fruity, woody, leathery, vinous. Sour, lemony, fruity with a damn’ drying effect. No traces of that ABV. Light bodied, thin almost flat with a little astringent woody bitter end. Outstanding beer. Waiting for the Grand Cru barrels...

Vintage 2008. Reddish brown color, slightly hazy. A small head quickly disappears. The smell is of tart berries, perhaps some lemon and tart apples as well. Subtle malts and a decent amount of funk - mud and wet hay. In the taste,sSome semi-sweet fruity notes and malts are quickly overshadowed by tart flavors and funky notes. The tartness is really good in this one, sharp and edgy, yet not puckering nor astringent. Perhaps a slight taste of vinegar. The finish is really dry with a decent amount of sweet alcohol, a hint of minerals and lingering tartness. Medium body with semi-aggressive carbonation. A good beer, quite interesting. It has an edgy character due to the way the tartness mixes with the aromas and the gentle sweetness. Would definitely have another. Serving type: bottle (Copy of old Beer Advocate review)
