Bottle Pours out a dark amber topped with a small off white head. Aroma was of white vinegar, tart fruits, and some oak. Taste was more of the tart fruit and vinegar. Along with some band-aid. Thanks ditmier.

Pours a sunset amber with moderate head. Nose is funky, earthy, woody, and hints of red fruits. Taste is similar, brighter flavor profile than i remember in most SBC beers. Really earthy, slightly spicy, cherries, peaches, red wine and funk.

bottled shared at dasilky tasting, gusher to the max, saved almost all though it’s a small bottle. odd ball of a beer, complex yet very difficult to figure out what is going on. 11% alc? undetectable. fun and super rare treat to try. not sure what 5-10 more years would add, or maybe this is past it’s prime. 1st try at this brewery.

Dasilky1 tasting. Dec 13th 2009. 375mL bottle opened by WeeHeavySD. Thanks Jon! Huge gusher. A little bit of sweetness. Smells great. Nice Bretty sour aroma. When the glass was empty it has a lingering malty oaky aroma. Very easy to drink. Excellent! Cheers to Jon’s 3000th rating as well.

Rating 3K, thats 3000, 3 thousand, yup, lots and lots of beers I’ve had. So I really originally wanted to drink Gargamel for 3k, but that wasn’t meant to be, so it’ll have to be another milestone. This beer was extremely highly antcipated by me because its the final version of the grand cru that I needed to get, and it took me a while to get it but I finally did from Gabe. GMCC2181. I’m glad I got to finally try it but its underwhelming, and it was a gusher gusher gusher, wow. Pours orange with a tan head. Nose is big and tart and portends a more tart taste than the taste ends up being. Taste is sweet and light and a lil tart. There is almost an apple juice quality of the taste and the appearance too, but this isn’t applejuice. Its not sour perfection, but its pretty good and good enough to mark a milestone with.

Hazy orange colored with wispy ring of off-white head. Interestingly sweet, fruity sour notes in the notes with waves of alcoholic-injected apricots and vanilla. Fruity, alcoholic, and subtly sour..very warming yet nicely fruity and delicious and sweet vanilla softness.

Bottle, 150cl, courtesy of Fonefan. Front label says 2009, backlabel 2008. Guess the front label refers to when it was bottled. It’s a still, hazy orange beer with a minimal off-white head. There’s a rubbery touch to the aroma, with caramel and malts as a base. Some alcohol shines through. Sweet, citrusy flavor with a rubbery touch, caramel, some berries and alcohol. Quite fruity. Full-bodied, astringens and quite palate-cleansing. Rubbery finish. A quite loverly beer, but I didn’t like the rubbery edge, and preferes the regular Bon-Chien 2008. 090822

Bottle courtesy, redlight. This one pours a hazy dark reddish color topped by a small, bubbly white film at the surface of the body. The aroma is very fruity showing hints of tart lemons and orange peel to go with the tart and vinous dark berries. The barrel lends some soft notes of vanilla, and tart savagnin grapes. The flavor follows and shows a nice blend between the tart fruits and vinous grapes. The sour cherries, grapes, and lemon peel show strong and add plenty of sourness to the flavor. The oak lends a nice vanilla element that seems to tie everything together. Medium bodied, smooth and vinous that finishes with some fruity acidity. I really liked all the flavors this barrel added to the beer. Another great barrel aged beer from these guys.
