Huge beige head on a murky brown body; Very special aroma that I am actually not sure is intended, beautiful special red berry aromas mixed with fine dark malts; Big and fitting carbonation on fruity acid balanced excellent body; Excellent big yeasty finish, more darker malt aromas and again the fruity very special touch. Very interesting very complex and very drinkable.

Bottle, ABV 5.5%, RBNAG 2009 in Vatlandsvåg. Dark brown colour, big to moderate tan head. Sourish funky aroma and flavour, notes of barnyard. Did not impress me much.

A weird brown color, looks like dirty water. Murky liquid. A small off-white head dissipates into some laings. The smell is kind of weird. Lots of gentle acidity and notes of dusty cellar. Plenty of funky notes of dirt and wet leaves as well. Some tart fruity notes and malts. It sure doesn’t smell as your ordinary porter. The taste is equally strange. Aromas of sweet and tart berries and fruits try to keep at bay some very prominent flavors of dusty cellar, yeast, mud and wet hay. The taste is actually quite funky. A mildly roasted character and if I really focus I think I can detect hints of chocolate. The finish has a slightly astringent acidity to it, notes of minerals, wood and a gentle minimally floral bitterness. Medium body, rather smooth. If this really is a porter, it’s one of the strangest porters I’ve come across. And as a porter, it’s quite bad. But as a beer, its decent I guess. Nice tart flavors, but the funkiness is a little to much. Recommended for those interested in somehting less ordinary. Bottle (Copy of old Beer Advocate review)

Bottle, 75cl - Pitch black beer with a large beige head. Aroma is sourish fruity with notes of vinuos soy and red berries. Flavour is sourish malty with notes of soy sauce, red berries and spices. Light bodied but refreshing and different.

Bottle 75 cl. Courtesy of joergen. Hazy orangey brown with a rough white head and floaties. Extremely lively - a gusher. Rustic, tart and woody aroma. Medium body, wood, overripe and dried fruit, lacto and Brett accents. Finishes dry. 130809

75 cl bottle. Darkbrown colour and pours a big creamy head. some. Aroma is a strange combination of ammonia and Laundry detergent. Flavour is very sour some tart but mostly immature apples, ammonia and laundry detergent. A very strange beer perfect for shocking your friends but not really suitable for drinking.
