nick76 (2634), Tampa, Florida, USA Aug 18, 2007 The aroma is nice with malt, yeast, herbs, and spice. The appearance is reddish brown with haze. The head is nice. The flavor is like the aroma and somewhat bitter. The palate is average for the style. Overall not bad but not good. GregClow (2492), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Aug 18, 2007 Bottle shared with blankboy, HogTownHarry, mds and tupalev - courtesy of HogTownHarry. Hazy orange-amber with a small off-white head. Aroma of yeast and spice with noce tart & funky notes. Flavour is sharp, with big yeast and herbal hop notes, and a hint of lemon. HogTownHarry (3922), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada Aug 16, 2007 Bottle (750ml). Shared with blankboy, GregClow, mds and tupalev - my bottle via trade with Ughsmash. Murky deep orange, huge fluffy off-white lasting head. Aroma like a mild geueze - sour, extremely yeasty, lightly lactic, cut-grass hops. The taste is very yeasty and pungent hops, sharp, crisp and bitter in the finish. Decent body, bitter finish, nice carbonation. Solid beer, really like it. fishingnet (1045), Brandon, Florida, USA Aug 14, 2007 Pours a clear amber with a one finger white head that fades and leaves good lacing. Aroma of malt, sweet fruit, floral hops, light yeast, and a hint of spicy funk. Taste is the same as aroma. Medium thin mouthfeel with a well balanced bitterness and light tart finish. Very good. gottalottaibu (242), charlotte, North Carolina, USA Aug 11, 2007 poured dark amber brown with a decent bubbly head. nice hop aromas (pine, astringent). flavor is weel balanced and enjoyable. nice spice and medicial hops with a chewy yeast/malt backbone. medium mouthfeel with a pleasent filling finish. beerbuzzmontreal (2909), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Jul 27, 2007 The pour reveals a murky dark amber color with a creamy offwhite head. The aroma is great with its spices and welll balanced hops, malt and yeast, very appealing. The flavor is amazing, it feels like a superb fruity cake with malt, hops and yeast, all the elements are well balanced. The body has a light to medium thickness with a creamy texture and moderate carbonation. Amazing. RedHaze (370), Where the hell am I?, Nebraska, USA Jul 14, 2007 Pours a very hazy dark muddy brown with a full four fingers worth of head that fades slowly to a thin soapy cap. The subsequent lacing is a bit tattered and broken.
Smell; very yeasty, almost dusty aroma, with some dark fruits and sweet malts mixed in. Surprisingly, there’s a little little bit of a floral hop aroma, with just some touches of citrus as well.
Taste; the yeast isn’t quite so strong as it was in the aroma, but still very evident. Dark fruits and sweet malts fill out the middle of theis beers, and then some floral hops come out. There also seems to be a bit of a smokiness to this as well..
Mouthfeel is medium bodied, and maybe a touch on the syrupy side, with a pretty good drinkability. Not really a beer I’d like to drik all of the time, but certainly a nice change of pace time of beer. Sammy (3928), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jun 30, 2007 Although BFM markets the 6 types of hops, the bitterness is well contained, and most substantiated in the finish. Superior tasty Belgian dark, with herbal aroma. Some caramel, grassiness, bold taste for merely 7.5%, citrus, coriander,
