Nice aroma is mildly sour lemon with dry hay and mustard powder. Medium body. Lightly sweet n’ tart lemon flavor with dusty malt, dry hay wet wood and spicy hops, light oxidation. Different. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 28, 2006 nutty brown color w/ lots of visable carbonation nd a gigantic dense lightly tan head w/ some good lacing. Aroma has a bi of hazlenut, some definate spices clove for sure and some grahm crackers w/ hints of malts too. Palate is nicely coated lightly creamy. Flavor is warming I’d have guessed more than 7.5% abv some lightly spiced hops hint of black pepper hitn of clove some bready notes and something lightly floral in the flavor. Decent beer, definatelly different. Thanks to Dave for sharing. StewardofGondor (1934), Washington Heights - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 22, 2007 Cloudy caramel in color with a khaki dust harrowing at the sides. Icy whitish grey lines the head completely. Coriander, ragweed and cherry blossoms strongly rope in the olfactory. Plastic squeeze toys drop in mulberry caramel pools. Coriander and aged grains of paradise roll with soiled oats, sitting in the back of a wooden wagon for a strange flavored derivative. Soiled mulberry potpourri also comes to call. Fullness of body is cherry picked by the tainted cranberry stew spread over dried out prairies, becoming a touch too tarnished with garden variety tendencies. Rhubarb and spiced plum tea flavored toffee digress too forcefully in the finale. Thanks for sharing, Brigadier! ABUSEDGOAT (1934), California, USA

It started to gush big time and filled the Duvel glass really fast... at which point my only option was to chug foam until I found another glass to pour it in. Ridiculous carbonation here, and it’s been cellared for over a month now. Murky amber body with lots of floaties. Aroma has a lemony tartness with notes of caramel and various fruits from berries to oranges. Tart sweetness in the finish, medium bodied. Once it stopped fizzing everywhere this became a very enjoyable beer. The price tag is scary though. The tartness and carbonation worked for me. Immy (1912), Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA

Nose is caramel and toffee, some sort of odd fruitiness in there, too. Caramel and brown sugar flavors, some spiciness. Strange, but good. marcus (1902), Sacramento, California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 24, 2007 This orange-colored biere de garde poured with a frothy beige head and a barnyard aroma. The flavor is a bit funky with a nice fruity malt base, a long dry slightly bitter finish and a caramel aftertaste. jeffc666 (1896), Fairfax, Virginia, USA
| 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 1/5 | 6/20 | Jan 8, 2007 2006 vintage 750 ml bottle poured cold. One of the most over-carbonated beers I have ever seen. I will have lost more than half of the volume before all is said and done. The bottle is currently sitting in the sink less than half full of liquid and yet it is still erupting like a volcano. Totally ridiculous. Murky brown orange body with many, many floaties. Huge fizzy light tan head. The aroma is Herby orange peel aroma. Pretty non-exciting. The flavor is none too good. Acrid burnt coriander wrapped in alcohol and very bitter, but not in a good way. The palate as expected is WAY TOO FIZZY. Undrinkable. This beer holds the distinction of my most expensive drain pour. What a waste. Beerdedone (1888), Croydon, Pennsylvania, USA
