I have been sitting on this since around Thanksgiving when I picked it up on a run to US Cellars in Minnetonka. For whatever reason it caught my eye without being too expensive. At $14.99 I am not sure I would buy it again but it was nice to have sample it once. Perhaps if I see any of the other releases for under $15 I may pick one up.
Aroma / Appearance - A two finger pillowy head dances to the top of the glass. Underneath the caramel bronze body sits impatiently with lively carbonation pushing air to the top at a fast rate. The nose is very open and reminds me of a floral shop. Pine, oak, rose petals, strawberries and a base nuttiness create the sensation of being in a field of wildflowers amidst towering trees.
Flavor / Palate - The first taste is that of a trail mix bar. Pine nuts, banana chips and peanut butter flutter across the tongue along with the carbonation. Next comes some more earthy tastes in the form of moss and barnyard. The clean dry aftertaste makes this a pleasant beer to try either as a sipper or before moving onto more complex styles. Either way I recommend splitting a bottle with a few people to see if you like it too. luckygirl (1221), Boulder, Colorado, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 18/20 | Oct 15, 2006 750. 2006. Beer is hazy medium brown with a huge, frothy, off-white, diminishing, mostly lasting head.

The aroma is really pleasing. Malty with moderate notes of toasted grain, creme brulee, shortbread cookie; Hoppy with moderate notes of herb, lemon zest; Yeasty with moderate note of basement; Moderate-to-heavy notes of brown sugar, warm alcohol. Light notes of tropical fruit, spicy pear. Less-than-trace note of rubber.

The flavor is heavily bitter, moderately sweet with a long, slightly warm, moderately bittersweet finish. Top-soil & anise in the retros.
The body is medium, the texture is watery and the carbonation is lively. Miguel (1181), Saint-Ours, Quebec, Canada

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Nov 30, 2007 Nice copper color with a huge off white head that lasts for an eternity. The aroma is grassy with a hint of lemon and yeast. Very strong earthy flavor, spices and some bitterness in the finish from the hops--very grassy once again. The mouthfeel is very highly carbonated, which is a turnoff for me. Not an IPA--that is a ridiculous label for this beer! Unique for sure. dolemike1 (1129), Jeannette, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 8, 2006 Brownish orange, slightly opaque, massive creamy head, lacing, spicy and citrus notes, flavor is lightly sweet, some interesting spice, and a light hop bitterness... then nothing. After a few sips the finish changed and became a quite hoppy pleasant finish. Weird. BlackDonald (1127), Boise, Idaho, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 8, 2008 I was pleasantly pleased with how this one turned out. Pours a hazy light orange, with an impressive cloudy like head. Lots of citrus in the nose, ever present since it was opened. Some crispness as first, followed by some hay, candied fruits and a bit of honey sweetness, rounds out into a very dry finish. Very delcious and unique Hophead22 (1105), Redlands, by way of Wisconsin,, California, USA

Slight sour apple aroma, not much hoppiness. Hoppiness is there in the taste though, not too bitter really. Not much of an IPA , but not bad either. Pwn3d (1097), Manhattan, New York, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 2, 2008 2006 Bottle. Maybe one of my friends opened this wrong but the amount of head that spilled out of this thing was unreal. The bottle was half foam. Dark orange haze with the equal amount of bubbly foam atop. Large amounts of of debris and yeast in the bottom. Mouth is yeast, spice, and notes of orange. I agree with FlacoAlto ’s review.
