The beer pours to a very creamy ultra-tall khaki head atop a nice coppery body with lots of visible carbonation. The aroma is fruity and doughy. Nice hop profile. Nice yeasts. The flavor is grainy with a light tartness. I like the malts in this. Nice subtle spiciness and "Bière de Garde"-ishness. Some lemons. Smooth lightly dry palate. Sourish, fruity nose. Medium body with some underlying sweetness, but overwhelmingly dominated by a rather complex combination of tartness (citrus - grapefruit) and aroma hops. But it’s not that bitter. A rather sophisticated beer really. Heavily sedimented. The label calls this a "Rousse de garde", to me it mostly reminds me of a Saison. Thanks to Bov for this very nice beer. 160306 HogTownHarry (4025), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada

Shared with blankboy, GregClow, mds and tupalev - my bottle via trade with Ughsmash. Murky deep orange, huge fluffy off-white lasting head. Aroma like a mild geueze - sour, extremely yeasty, lightly lactic, cut-grass hops. The taste is very yeasty and pungent hops, sharp, crisp and bitter in the finish. Decent body, bitter finish, nice carbonation. Solid beer, really like it. fishingnet (1047), Brandon, Florida, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 14, 2007 Pours a clear amber with a one finger white head that fades and leaves good lacing. Aroma of malt, sweet fruit, floral hops, light yeast, and a hint of spicy funk. Taste is the same as aroma. Medium thin mouthfeel with a well balanced bitterness and light tart finish. Very good. obguthr (1065), Poquoson, Virginia, USA

Muddy brown pour with an enormous head, full of sediments. Musty pear, caramel, malt, and fig flavor. Alcohol noticeable. Light grass finish. This was pretty good, but an IPA? What hops were used? mmmbeer (765), Austin, Texas, USA

Poured a murky (almost cider like quality) copper brown, creamy white head formed and laced nicely. Low to zero carbonation. Aroma of funk, cork, tart fruits, and a note of citrus. Hits the mouth with low-medium body, malt is in disguise with some very light floral, a light barnyard smell transformed to taste comes in the middle, finish has some mild pineapple and lasting funk. All over the map, but refined to limits. I really like it! Side note- getting to 50 different "countries" was relatively easy- did it by purchasing brews available locally and setting up maybe 4 or 5 different trades just for brews from different nations. As for the next 50- this is a marathon, not a sprint. But I’ll get there... craftbeerdesign (765), Alpharetta, Georgia, USA

From the bottle it pours an opaque burnt copper brown with a creamy tan head. Lacing is very good. Aromas picked up were tart lemons, caramel, prunes and perfume hops. Taste was tart fruit, some grass, and caramel. Finish was a dry sour and then a quite warm aftertaste.
