Slightly hazy brown orange body with tons of carbonation leading to a big ol’ tan head. Dried cranberry over coffee cake aroma with a bit of enticing in the back. Caramelly-sweet start to the flavor with gingery/spice/vine offset. Some peppery yeast in the finish. A tasty ale, it could possibly use a more diverse spicing. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 16, 2006 Second time I am trying this. First time brought a big bottle to HWOH and this time got an 11.5 oz bottle. Poured with a big head that quickly dissipated into some lacing. Color is a muddy, filled with floaties, light brown. CAnnot see through the beer at all and barely translucent. Aroma is very present - apple cider, with some hop aroma behind it. Taste is a nice surprise, not overwhelmed by the hops but pleasantly and presently in the background of a woodsy, apple cider-esq flavor. Just a hint of bitterness at the end. Alcohol hidden. jimhilt (1687), Bow, New Hampshire, USA

Aroma of vinous, raisins, and toffee. Flavor of toasted malt, some light sourness, plums, raisins, floral hosp, caramel, and cocoa. The style should be classified as a Biere de Garde or Saison, but certainly not an IPA. BeerandBlues2 (3225), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA

Aroma is heavy malt (bread, cereal, meal), average hops (herbs, grass), heavy yeast (dough, musty, leaves) with notes of light alcohol, banana, cask and wood. Medium bodied, sticky texture, fizzy carbonation and a bitter finish. Short duration, light sweetness, moderate acidity and heavy bitterness with a salty flavor. walleye (879), Sterling Heights, Michigan, USA
