On tap at Beachwood. Interesting beer. Aroma of tea, caramel, and smoked malt. Flavor was similar. Caramel, tea, smoked malt with some meatiness. Overall it was earthy and herbal. A bit strange with the tea, but have to like the concept.

Dec 16, 2009 33cL flip top bottle. Pours reddish amber, capped with a modest sized off-white head that fades rapidly to a thin ring of bubbles. Unusual, enticing aroma, with woody, lactic notes, pepper, tea, and caramel. Flavor is unusual, but not in the same delicious way as the aroma. Flavor is mild at first, with not much more than caramel and tea. Pepper and spice join in towards the finish, and a little pepper hangs out for a brief finish. Thin to medium bodied, with little carbonation. Weird stuff, but I liked it.

Dec 15, 2009 Tap @ Cole’s. Amber body, tan head. Nose is fruity - cherry, berries, some cleaning product. Flavor is berries, a little smokey fruit, some toasted malt. Almost a non-acidic sour, if that makes sense.

Aroma: musty and spicy aroma, mostly dry with just a touch of caramel sweetness
Flavor: sweet and tart flavor, lots of musty character, light spicyness, funk and spices combine for a big bitterness, long bitter finish

Dec 11, 2009 Tap @ Coles Buffalo NY. Pours a red tinted amber. Light smoke, red wine & some tartness in the aroma. Sweet malt taste, red wineiness, some tart/sour & mild smokiness. Strange but one is probably enough

Dec 8, 2009 Bottle… Foggy orange/amber ale with a small, creamy, white head. The nose is very French farmhouse with a nice component of herbal, earthy smoked tea. Medium-bodied with tickling carbonation. The flavor is all about the smoked tea. Lots of caffeine – I was sweating before I finished the glass. Crisp, lightly tart, mildly spicy finish.

Dec 6, 2009 Off the wall. on tap at Cole’s. Hazy Average grapefruit colour, with white bubbly head. Smoked Chinese tea aroma, and it is the taste. Average mouthfeel.A little astringency. Might have been more interesting on cask.

Dec 3, 2009 Bottle thanks to bu11zeye I think. Cloudy amber with a white head. Dried fruits, tea and some smoke aromas. Decent on the palate with a flavor of sweet fruits and tea with a fruity finish.
