Oakes (6853), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Jun 7, 2007 Murky dark brown colour. Aroma is quite smoky with a thick fudge maltiness. Big and chewy, with lots of alcohol and a strong roast component. Dash of alcohol late. Not terribly cohesive...certainly next to the singular flavour of a rauchbier. kp (6200), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Apr 5, 2008 Date: 03/22/2008

Comments: A solid structure, eminently malty with profound beechwoody Bamberg nuances. The hefty dose of residual sugars impart delicate honeyed, oatmeal cookies and cakey subtleties. Soft bitterness. Absolutely excellent. CaptainCougar (4633), Rockville, Maryland, USA Mar 22, 2008 Pours a mostly opaque black with dark brown edges and a wispy-lacing tan head. Big smoky dark malty nose has some earthy roasted notes. Starts fairly full and well-carbonated with a touch of sweet dark caramel and chocolate malts and lots of smoky complexity. Finishes smoky and bittersweet with lingering roasted smoky dark malt. A very nice smoked porter. hopdog (4552), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA Nov 29, 2007 341ml bottle shared courtesy of dickinsonbeer. Poured a dark brown color with a small sized off white head. Aromas of camp fire with some chocolate and roast in the back ground. Tastes of lighter smoke, chocolate, roast, and light coffee.
