Poured a medium and hazy amber color with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of caramel, vanilla, wood, and some yeast. Tastes of the same. I would have guessed this one was barrel aged! Thinner body. Rastacouere (5564), Montréal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 25, 2006 Clear golden pour raising a brilliant white head, fully lasting and lacing. Moderately high carbonation level translates to a vigorous effervescence in mouth. Very fruity nose, immediately reminiscent of sweet and tart apples and... dragonfruit (thanks Olivier). Well extracted maltiness offers balancing bready and quite grainy finishing flavors. Grows less fruity and more toward sourdough breadiness at it warms. Rather generously hopped as well, strongly herbal and sage-like fmo the first nose. Very drinkable. MartinT (5068), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 15, 2006 Any first impressions?
-A clear bronze orange is covered by thick foam.
-A sanative aroma of C-hops is aptly balanced with toasted caramel maltiness.
-The wooden hop flavor is wisely joined to the caramel maltiness.
-A creamy body is created by the well-extracted malts and fitting carbonation.
What if you dig deeper?
-The biscuity, toasted grain builds with time, developing an attractive crunchy flavor and aftertaste.
-Bitterness is moderate, but allies mild wooden hops and grain.
-A perilously drinkable, humble ale for long sessions, this won’t get any high scores here, but I don’t think this beer could serve its purpose any better.

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 10, 2006 Sampled draught at the Mondial de la Bière in Montreal, 2006. A light, grassy, very clean and simple aroma full of pale malt erupts from the smooth light amber body....the mouthfeel is indeed creamy, soft, buttery-smooth almost....it offers little excitement in the way of flavor, but a competent execution of solidly extracted malts and just enough light bitter hops to keep it from gelling into mush....there isn’t great distinction here, but it’s a nice refreshing simple step up from the macros, and I think that’s what it’s intended as, so good job. tiggmtl (4311), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Dec 22, 2005 Fruity esters are joined by clean, fresh, lightly bready malts in the nose. Brilliantly clear golden body is topped by a generous and lasting, fine bubbled, white head that recedes slowly to cover. Fruity esters are nicely balanced with bready malts. Herbal hop character and light finishing bitterness round out the flavour profile. Light, refreshing body with crisp, lively carbonation and just a touch of astringence. Sampled on tap at the brewery. Thanks, Charles! HogTownHarry (4025), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 2, 2006 Bottle (341ml). Clear gold with a solid lasting foamy off-white head. Soft, lactic aroma - light pine/herbal hops, grain backbone - nice, but a little too bland. Taste - oh, my, that’s nice - very grainy, I don’t get any corn or extraneous junk, just malted grain and soft herbal hops, very good. Very chewy body, light astringency, decent carbonation and a nice medium finish - pretty nice stuff - cream ale? I don’t see it, but I’d drink a few on the deck any day ....
