| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 19, 2008 750 ml. Funky and tart with a fizzy mouthfeel and light texture — easy to drink because it is clean and brisk. Hazy, dark golden to amber body with a huge, fizzy, off-white head that sticks around. The aroma is musty barnyard and citrus along with some grassiness, grape, clove and unripened pear. The flavor is moderately acidic and moderately sweet. Lightly bitter in the finish, but an acidic tartness carries through from beginning to end. Leaves a lingering dry mouthfeel. Medium body with a watery texture. Lively carbonation. Classified as a tradtional ale, but drinks an awful lot like a funky saison. And as that, it is full of farmhouse flavors. Very nice.

Very sweet and pronounced aroma of figs. I am happy to see that they use actual fig juice and nt just artificial extract. This help set the beer apart from others and really enhance the mouthfeel. Also present the distinct Belgian yeast. BeerandBlues2 (3230), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA
