Commercial Description:
Made in the tradition of artisan brewers, Sans Culottes is a blonde beer sur lie. Probably the best bière de garde for the uninitiated to start with. Packed in a 75 cls bottle with a wired-down cork, Sans Culottes sports a brilliantly eye-catching label showing a revolutionary soldier proudly wearing his pantalons, having wisely forsaken his culottes for the coming struggle.

Pours a slightly cloudy golden color with floaties and a thin white head. Solid aroma of hay, funk, spices and malt. Superb flavor of funk, hay, spices and malt, it is well balanced and very enjoyable. The body is light to medium with a creamy, soft texture and lively carbonation. A very good bière de garde.

The aroma has grains, yeast, sugar, earth, and spice. The appearance is dark gold - orange with a foamy head. The flavor is like the aroma. The palate is full and smooth. Overall a good beer.

This Biere de Garde pours an orange gold color from a 750ml bottle. Small sized white foamy head. Aroma is bready, yeasty, fruity and sweet. A medium to full bodied B de G. Malts are baked bread, roasted malts, and orange. Hops are earthy. Slightly spicy, mostly coriander and ginger flavors. Lively carbonation. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

750ml bottle from the Dodgi Deli, Cowley Road, Oxford, 16-06-07. Pours a pale yellow with a haze, aroma had some malt but slight sharpness, sourness there. Taste was pleasant but the initial taste was slightly sour/tart which then developed into quite a nice smooth light malty flavour with soem fruits eveident maybe even a slight hint of banana in the background.
