Very similar to Delirium Tremens. Coloration muddy orange, with small particles that do not confuse the degustation. Beige cream clearly, which is little persistent. In the palate, intense of nuts, banana, spices e (at last) I obtained to feel dates. Sufficiently present alcohol, perhaps a little extreme, however without compromising the set. Excellent beer.............................................. Excelente cerveja.

Orange color and unclear. Has a medium, white head. Aroma is hopped, and some hints of fruit. Flavor starts bitter, finish turns to sweetness, fruit. Lasting palate.

Cloudy blonde body with a lot of small particles. Typical Belgian blonde nose : coriander, pineapples, etc. Taste was lemony and other citrus fruits, somewhat sweet, nice tartness. Body felt pleasantly dry and floury. Alcohol felt more like 7.5% than 9.4%. Would feel at home among classic blonde triples (Fin du Monde, St-Feuillein, etc.). This is a strong but refreshing beer. I’m surprised to see all those so-so ratings, I guess people only like pirates in movies.

Bottle. Pours cloudy gold, white head. Aroma is honey, pickles, and spices. Flavor is honey, wheat, pickles, spices, slight bleu cheese tanginess. On the funky side, which is what appeals to me.

330 mL bottle from Lubiere. App.: med. golden colour, small open head and many small flecks of yeast. Aroma: sweet malt, plenty of honey, a bit herbal. Some fruitiness (apple, pear) and a bit yeasty. Palate: fairly aggressive carbonation, gassy and effervescent. Flav.: sl. sweet, honey, alcohol is well hidden. A bit of coriander and spiciness. A hint of lingering bitterness. Gotta love the red-eyed pirate on the label!

Strong citrus, spice and cookie dough like yeast along with plenty of fruity esters and phenolics in the aroma. Almost opaque blonde-golden body is topped by a decent, pillowy, white head that recedes to a constantly replenished cover. Banana esters are strong in the sweet flavour with fairly strong phenolics and bitterness to offset the huge malt sweetness. Spices linger in the aftertaste. Alcohol is fairly apparent especially in the aftertaste. Almost like a Strong Belgian Hefe. Somewhat prickly carbonation is a bit harder than expected and somewhat gassy though the mouthfeel is otherwise quite smooth. Tulip glass. Cellar temperature. Bottle (BB Dec-08, Bièropholie, Aug-06).

(Bottle) Pours a high-top white frothy head and a clear highly carbonated amber body. Nose of yeast, itrus and tin. Flavours of very peppery yeast and a mild caramel malt. Good.
