Papsoe (9980), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jul 5, 2008 (Bottle 50 cl) Slightly hazy golden with a creamy, off-white head. Aroma of malt - perhaps also unmalted grain? Medium body with sweet malts, slightly flowery. No real bitterness. Pleasant all right, but not exactly the Dunkler Bock the label claims. 290608 ekstedt (1785), Göteborg, Sweden Jul 7, 2008 Sampled at RBESG08 grand tasting. Cloudy golden with medium white head. Bready and doughy with some fresh floral hops. Medium bodied and smooth. Good balance. omhper (10393), Stockholm, Sweden Jul 7, 2008 Bottled at RBESG. Hazy golden, creamy head. Fruity vanilla aroma. Sweet with some sugar and wort. Medium bodied with creamy mouthfeel. A ligh, fluffy mix of sugar and butter. Low bitterness. Quite interesting. MoritzF (3690), Ruhrpott, Germany May 28, 2008 (swing top bottle) Cloudy, orange colour with a thick but not very persistent, slightly yellow foamy head. Yeasty, moderately sweet barley aroma with notes of pop-corn and a subtle fruity touch. Moderately sweet flavour, medium to full bodied with a smooth mouthfeel. Yeasty and subtle fruity (grape-fruit, pears), barley-malty and grainy taste; moderately sweet yeasty and malty finish with a faint herbal hoppy touch. Not overly convincng but easy to drink. The brewery calls it a “Dunkler Bock” but actually it is not really dark (28.05.08). yespr (6162), Copenhagen O, Denmark Jul 2, 2008 RBESG2008: 50 cL bottle. Pours hazy orange with a slowly collapsing white head. Light cornish aroma. Mash note too. Flavour is sweet cornish and light hoppy note towards the finish. Ends medium dry and light bitter.
