Lubiere (4552), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 12, 2008 A dark brown alt with a thin quickly dissipating off white head. In aroma, a vinous and rich aroma, with dark fruits, banana, in doppelbock territory. In mouth, a good sweet and crisp malt, with licorice, nutty notes, burned caramel. Again, this is a doppelbock. Good work, RH! Bottle at Jovi, 2.99$. Rastacouere (5565), Montréal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 6, 2008 Objectively speaking:
A stronger alt that maintains most of the style’s heavy drinkability.
I like:
Restrained nutty bitterness. Alcohol notions are very controlled - a touch more would be too much. Gentle and lasting carbonation. The elegant fruitiness of an old cheddar (sharp and flowery hard to pinpoint fruits - pears, roasted chestnuts, astringent wood cherries, bitter chocolate)
I dislike:
The head quickly disapparates from the deep auburn. A bit more acidity than expected (albeit very clean). Slightly coating lingering fruity residual sweetness. Snoro (229), Montréal, Quebec, Canada

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 1, 2008 Pours a dark reddish amber color with a thin offwhite head. Pleasant aroma of malt, caramel and fruits (apples? pears?). The flavor is rich, the caramel’s sweetness blends well with the fruit, there’s a nice presence of malt. The body is medium with an oily texture and soft carbonation. It’s not as refreshing as some other altbiers, but it’s still a pleasant interpretation of the style.
