Burgundy, amberish in color, small head retention that stick like glue to the glass. Limpid, golden hues, different shades of darkness in this beer. Smell is at first hoppy, fruity, herbal aromas of hops, followed by bread flavors and malt. Her taste is a tad bitter, buttery, malty and ends with the hops, at first the buttery of the yeasts comes and hit you, then followed by the caramel flavours of the malt with a nice floral hoppy finish. Warm alcohol touch, with fruity notes that come in to play.

(Bottle) Purchased at Marché Jovi, in Gatineau (QC) for $2.49. Pours a very thin, frothy, tan head with a mildly carbonated reddish body. The nose is of floral hops, oak, caramel malt and spice. A flavourful high hoppiness is well balanced by the malt. A tad more carbonated and less oily than Old Ales I’ve sampled but its another solid beer by Réné proving he’s the most consistent Quebec brewer. Cheers!

Smell of caramel and toffee. Very aqueaous with a good taste of hop.

bottle. thanks David. pours a reflective dark copper body with a generous tanned head leaving sheets of lace as it slowly diminishes. the aroma is pleasing with chalky yeast, caramel, and dark chocolate notes. body felt a little bit thin with flavours of caramel, toast bread, and green hops. interesting but it could possibly be more.

Bottle: poured a brown/reddish color ale with a huge foamy head with perfect retention. Aroma of sweet slightly roasted malt with some hops that are very hard to recognize. Taste is slightly sweet with a good malt presence and ends with astringent hops that don’t really fit in there IMHO. Body is less full then expected and carbonation is quite high. I find this generally lack character and the presence of astringent hops didn’t so it for me. Probably one of the less enjoyable offering from this brewer.
