Very cool label!!! Copper colour with a nice frothy off-white head. Citrus & sweet grass aroma maybe a bit of caramel also. Flavours are very fruity, some eucalyptus/mint with a smooth mouthfeel. Only drawback - It’s a little tart.

Robe brune très claire aux reflets cuivrés surmontée d’une mousse beige épaisse qui s’estompe. Arômes de houblon piquant et herbacé. Saveurs de malt caramélisé, d’épices et de houblon citronné et herbacé. Hallertauer?

Bottle courtesy turg. Orange amber colour with a frothy lasting tan head. Citrus and leafy hops plus toffee aroma. Toffee, brown sugar, citrus, fruity, pine, and woody flavours. Medium to full bodied, smooth and silky. Apparently I enjoy this brewery’s house character...

Brown ale with mahogany hues and a thin off-white head, lacing. Light caramel in aroma with light floral hops, peppery. Nice caramel malt in mouth, with nutty notes, floral hops comming well. A nice mix between a nut brown and an old ale. Bottle from Rahman, Dec. 2005. 2.49$

Burgundy, amberish in color, small head retention that stick like glue to the glass. Limpid, golden hues, different shades of darkness in this beer. Smell is at first hoppy, fruity, herbal aromas of hops, followed by bread flavors and malt. Her taste is a tad bitter, buttery, malty and ends with the hops, at first the buttery of the yeasts comes and hit you, then followed by the caramel flavours of the malt with a nice floral hoppy finish. Warm alcohol touch, with fruity notes that come in to play.

341ml bottle (B!) Deep copper with a medium beige head. Aroma is oak, caramel, roasted malt and raisins. Taste is similar, with a long bitter finish (fuggles?) from hops. A beer with a lot of caracter!

The pour reveals a clear brown color with a medium, bubbly tan head. As I stick my nose in the glass the first thing that comes to my mind is earthy and leafy hops, then smoked malt is noticed with caramel sweetness. The flavor is very interesting, the elements described in the aroma are there with citrus added, I like the combination of earthy hops with smoked malt, the flavor finishes bitter. The body is full with an oily texture and moderate carbonation. I like this beer, when I saw the previous rating I thought I would be let down but this is a very good beer to me. I think it helped that I waited for the bottle to warm up after getting it out of the fridge, maybe cold or cool it isn’t as good.

(Bottle) Purchased at Marché Jovi, in Gatineau (QC) for $2.49. Pours a very thin, frothy, tan head with a mildly carbonated reddish body. The nose is of floral hops, oak, caramel malt and spice. A flavourful high hoppiness is well balanced by the malt. A tad more carbonated and less oily than Old Ales I’ve sampled but its another solid beer by Réné proving he’s the most consistent Quebec brewer. Cheers!
