Bouteille 341ml. De couleur noire et opaque. Nez de malt rôti et assez fumée (bois et bacon), de chocolat noir et avec des notes fruitées (cerises noires), de café et de houblon herbeux ainsi que des traces de crème sucrée. Moyenne-ronde en bouche avec un pétillement moyen-bas et une texture crémeuse et aux petites notes huileuses. Léger goût fruité (cerises noires, traces de mûres, de raisins et de prunes) accompagné d’un goût fumé (bois, notes de bacon), de notes de tabac ainsi que des traces de crème et de réglisse noire lors de l’entrée en bouche auquel se rajoute un goût moyennement amer de malt rôti (légèrement brûlé et aux notes terreuses) avec un moyen goût de chocolat noir (notes de chocolat sucré) puis progressivement vient se rajoute un moyen goût de café noir jusqu’en finale, où l’on retrouve également un léger goût de houblon herbeux asséchant ainsi que des notes d’alcool doux. Post-goût long et sec, moyennement amer de rôti/ brûlé avec un moyen goût de café, de chocolat noir, de houblon herbeux, de fumée ainsi que des notes fruitées (moût de cerises noires et de pelures de prunes) et d’alcool très doux.

12 ounce bottle from the Festivus Guy, and shared with Mike. Opaque black with a brown head. Hardwood smoke, soy sauce, burning leaves, and chocolate notes. Some light herbal hops. I taste chared marshmallow, chocolate, and grahmn. SMORES!!! Medium body. Soft mouthfeel. Light carbonation. Dry ashy finish. Wonderful beer.

A deep brown beer with reddish highlights is topped by a good tan head but left only spotty lace upon the glassware. The nose really ROCKS with a clean smoked wood and charred malt character along with some fig, chocolate, and hazelnut vapours.

The taste starts smoky and chocolaty with a nice fruity background. There is some light pepper and woody note upon the finish. The mouth feel is soft and smooth with a dry chalky charred finish. All in all this is yet another outstanding Smoked beer I have had the pleasure of enjoying lately. Recommended if you like the style.

341mL bottle, no date thanks to beerbuzzmontreal (Denis). Deep brown with ruby edges and a small tan head that fades to a ring. Awesome aroma of campfire smoke, smoked meat, tobacco, milk chocolate, and a fair amount of roasted malts. There is also some sweet caramel. The flavor lightens a little bit from the milk chocolate. Dominating the flavor is roasted malts and campfire and ash--the ash especially in the finish. There is also light spicy alcohol in the dry finish, bitterness peaking at a 3. Light carbonation with a medium body. Smoked beers are great when done right, and this is no exception. Thanks again Denis!

Pours a dark black with a small tan head. Hints of smoked wood, dark fruit, cocoa, roasted coffee, spices. Finishes with a creamy sweet smoked taste on the tongue. Very nice.

341oz bottle. thanks to Glouglouburp for the bottle. pours black with creamy tan head. nose has a peaty smoked and chocolate. really nice aroma. flavor has a big smoked beet quality to it with smooth milk chocolate and hints of dark fruit. flavor profile comes off pretty smooth but a touch more roast and a bolder smokiness could improve the flavor. carbonation is smooth and body is light and really drinkable. a real tasty smoked porter that is rightly classified as a smoked.

The body is about as dark as it gets, with a black center showing dark mahogany at the edges only when held to a strong light source. A small, milky, foamy tan head settles quickly to a wispy patch with a prominent edge. Sudsy lacing droops its way back to the body slowly. Speaking of body, this one looks a little thin as it’s swirled in the glass. The aroma is simultaneously sweet and savory. A chocolate and mocha malt base meets a charred, oaky vanilla component. It smells relatively light and airy, almost like a smoked, whipped mousse. The flavor is equally smoky, malty, and creamy. Cocoa powder, vanilla beans, dark chocolate mousse, and lightly smoked oak all come to mind. The palate is smooth and silky, yet just medium in stature. The consistency reminds me of 2% milk. Finishes malty and lightly bitter, with just a touch of soy sauce saltiness. Carbonation is perfect. This is an excellent smoked beer that would serve as an interesting pairing for a seemingly endless array of culinary creations.
