Chocolate brown pour with a very smoky aroma. Flavor was muddy, smoky and just not really to my liking. I’m pretty picky on smoked beers, so this is probably just not my thing.

Thanks MartinT! Black-dark ruby body with a medium creamy tan-beige lacing head. Strong nose with liqueric coffee, roasted grains, smoked oak, dark fruits and caramel. Sturdy mouthfeel with the fine roasted grains, the smoked character. Complex, syrupy-oily texture, rich body with dried dark fruits, dark chocolate or roasted cocoa-beans. Some wooden taste in the finish, roasted aftertaste. Strong character, unique one...

J ai eu l impression de manger une livre de bacon. J ai vraiment pas aimer; prefere la Calumet. I was under the impression I was eating some bacon. I didnt like this one.

bottle from trade with glouglouburp.

transparent dark ruby brown capped with a tan head which leaves light spotty and horizontal lacing. much toastier richer smoke than the calumet... sweet barbecue sauce like smokiness, fudgey chocolate, roasty grain, caramel and a slight sourness. the flavor is richer, smoother and all around heartier than the calumet as well... caramel, chocolate, grassy floral hops and rich sweet smoke with some spiciness on the dry finish. the aftertaste (which lingers for hours) is quite lactic and reminds me a lot of true lebanon bologna. the body is quite full and has soft slick carbonation. the level of acidity makes it seem thinner.

this pairs insanely well with chocolate creme brulee... 8/4/8/5/17/4.2

Bouteille de 355 ml. Deguste avec french tickler. Biere de couleur noir avec un mince collet non collant. Odeur fume, saucissons, sel et un peut fruité. Gout tres fume et agreable, sel et un peu poivre.

341 ml bottle from a trade with glouglouburp. pours black with no head. very ittle carbonation. aromas of subtle smoke with some roasted malts. the flavours is light smoke with some burnt coffee and chocolate. thinner then i expected. oxidized. i was really looking forward to this one because i love smoked beers. i think this bottle must have been cellared but alas no production date. still this is something im very lucky to have tried, thanks for the bottle danny!

11.2oz from Glouglouburp - thanks, Dany! A deep thick pour, almost completely still and without really any head or carbonation. The base beer is a nice strong porter, rich and chocolatey, with a moderate body and a very smooth mouthfeel. Roasted malts are in there, but the deliciously strong smoke is what the beer’s about. And because the base is strong, the smoke is stronger. Long bitter finish, a hint of heat, and a very enjoyable brew.

Pours to a black body with a creamy tan head and spotty lacing. The aroma is chocolate and smoke. Mostly sweet milk chocolate. Juniper-like hops. The flavor is milk chocolate with tons of rauchmalt and some bitter spruce hops. The palate is dry powder and medium bodied.
