330. Thanks, Dany! Pours black with a dense but brief fizzy, creamy tan head. Nice blended nose of roast, campfire, licorice, and even a tiny bit of peppery, rauchy bacon. Medium, creamy body. Tingling carb that’s not quite stinging but fairly present. Dark roasty body, campfire and ash on the mid-palate, along with bits of chocolate and roast. Really delicious.

Bottle thanks to Drewbeerme. Hazy dark brown with medium beige head. Aroma is all smoke with some foriegn meat of unknown origin. Flavor is a lot of burned wood and smoked meats but there is a good amount of sweet dark malt that comes through as well. Medium body and a good amount of carbonation. A nice smokey beer that leaves a lingering smoke in the mouth several glasses of water afterwords.

12oz bottle thanks to drewbeerme for sharing this one. Pours brown with a beige head. Nose of ham roasted over a campfire made of burning hickory. Lots of the campfire, hickory, peat, and charred malts in the flavor. I’d like the smoke to come off a little stronger and knock me out like the great smoked beers do. However this is a fine smoked beer, I’m glad to have had a chance to try.

Poured pitch black with slight ruby hints when held up to the light. There was absolutely no head or lacing on this one. Whoa, there is a serious aroma on this sucker, with the huge hickory smoked summer sausage smell. Some sweet malts, coffee, and chocolate, but it’s really all about the smoke. Taste is a more subtle smoked malt flavor with a hint of the smoked hickory. There is also some more prevalent sweetness in the taste with malts and dark fruit along with heavier coffee and chocolate hints. Mouthfeel is medium with no carbonation and coats the mouth thoroughly. This is one of the more interesting beers I have had in a while and I really enjoyed it.

Bottle. Pours dark brown with a moderate sized light brown head. Smells smokey and roasty malty. Tastes dark and roasty malty followed by lots of smoke and then a little bit of smoked beef. The flavor starts good but the smoked meat flavor puts me off a little. Medium body, slightly dry, somewhat subdued carbonation.

Bottle... Very dark brown ale (practically black) with a small, khaki head. Smells like the charred insides of a whiskey barrel... an intoxicating blend of hickory, mesquite, beechwood and peat smokes. Full-bodied with a mildly creamy mouthfeel and modest carbonation. Fairly well-balanced, although it does lean just a hair on the bitter side. Smoke, unsweetened cocoa and espresso. A touch oxidized. Finishes smoky, meaty and moderately bitter. Cheers to glouglouburp for shipping this brew down from the neighborhood to our north!
