Murky dark brown colour. Aroma is quite smoky with a thick fudge maltiness. Big and chewy, with lots of alcohol and a strong roast component. Dash of alcohol late. Not terribly cohesive...certainly next to the singular flavour of a rauchbier.

Bottle from RadioMGB, thanks! Deep dark brown color. Malt and beechwood smoke in the aroma. Malty flavor with peach. A slight tartness with loads of beechwood smoke. Peach, melon and pineapple in the finish. Lovely!

341ml bottle shared courtesy of dickinsonbeer. Poured a dark brown color with a small sized off white head. Aromas of camp fire with some chocolate and roast in the back ground. Tastes of lighter smoke, chocolate, roast, and light coffee.

(Bottle) Pours a dark brown body with a small tan head. Aroma of smoked buffalo jerky, toasted biscuit, burnt wood, and roasted malt. Flavor of smoke, roasted malt, touch of dark fruit, and caramel malt with a mild bitterness and wood finish.

Comments: A solid structure, eminently malty with profound beechwoody Bamberg nuances. The hefty dose of residual sugars impart delicate honeyed, oatmeal cookies and cakey subtleties. Soft bitterness. Absolutely excellent.

Pours a mostly opaque black with dark brown edges and a wispy-lacing tan head. Big smoky dark malty nose has some earthy roasted notes. Starts fairly full and well-carbonated with a touch of sweet dark caramel and chocolate malts and lots of smoky complexity. Finishes smoky and bittersweet with lingering roasted smoky dark malt. A very nice smoked porter.
