Commercial Description:
The same malt bill as the Bièropholie Cascade. We just double the amount of Cascade hops.

The first production in 2005 was at 104 IBU and was better before December 2005.

The current production, made in April 2007 will be at its best before December 2007.

Definitely not for "Dry" lovers...

12 oz bottle shared by Dickinsonbeer. Murky light brown in color with a small lasting head. Aroma is grapefruit, citrus, but with some muddled malts in the background. Taste is also citrus, with dirty malts and some metallic notes. Bitterness was quite subdued, considering it’s 100 + IBU declaration on the bottle.

Bottle bought at Le Gobelet. The color is amber with a beige head. The aroma and taste is of hops with a sweet bitter taste added. Drinking this beer leaves you a good taste in your mouth.

Copper with no real head. Aroma is piney and hoppy with a touch of grapefruit. Hopy and syrupy throughout. Doesn’t have the complexity or balance of the better IPA’s but does bring out the hoppy sugary flavour.

Bottle shared at Glouglouburps rooftop tasting. Poured a nice copper color with a giant frothy off white head. Aroma of caramel malt and fading hops, seemed like if it was fresher the hops would have been more prominent. Full bodied with a slight syrupy feel. Flavor of hops and earth, not much on the caramel that was very noticable in the nose. A nice effort but the flavor seems to lose it a bit compared to the aroma.

(Rating #1241)

[bottle] Clear reddish amber, with a dense, chunky white head. Malt-focused aroma, with plenty of cascade. Flavors of grapefruit and citrus fruits, with a kind of nutty malt foundation that almost outweighs the overall bitterness. Still, quite drinkable, with the alcohol becoming only slightly apparent in the end. Strong finishing hop presence. Overall, very good.

Simple little bottle from Goldorak. Rich starting head holds its own for a while. Copper colour. Rich malty hop nose. Woody grapefruit flavour. Strong hops. Can feel them in the teeth but still surprised that the IBUs are as high as 100+. Lots of woody malt. Rich deep flavours.

Bouteille 106 BU.
