Commercial Description:
The same malt bill as the Bièropholie Cascade. We just double the amount of Cascade hops.

The first production in 2005 was at 104 IBU and was better before December 2005.

The current production, made in April 2007 will be at its best before December 2007.

Definitely not for "Dry" lovers...

A muddy amber beer with an orange head. The aroma is sweet with strong notes of hops and citrus. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of lemon and grapefruit, leading to a dry bitter end.

Bottled. Amber coloured. Unclear. Dense light brown coloured. Herby and flowery aroma. Flavour is full of caramel and herbs. Is quite dry. Meidum bodied. Dry light bitter end. Quite easy drinking beer, but not as balanced as the ordinary cascade.

Clear glowing copper body with a large off-white head. Intense nose of floral hops. Like the previous version, the 2007 batch is very floral with orange and citrusy flavours in the back. The well malted body full of caramelized malts provides a excellent support for this hops extravaganza. Gone is a slight medicinal flavour of the first batch. Nice floral/fruity bitterness although not as sharp as one might expect from a 100+ IBU beer. Oily body with a carbonation that is a bit softer than it should be. Doesn’t re-invent the wheel but man is it effective! The more I drink it, the more I find other quebec IPAs flavourless… is it what they mean by cascade effect?

Bottle obtained in a trade with <a href=http://www.ratebeer.com/ViewUser.asp?U target=blank>Rastacouere, thanks David. Rich copper in colour, very long lasting beige coloured head, lots of lace. The aroma is quite hoppy (lots of pine, citrus), some caramel sweetness as well. The flavour is of pink grapefruits, pine, orange citrus, caramel malt balance. Chewy, bitter mouthfeel, medium sized body, high carbonation. The finish is long with a lingering moderate bitterness. Very enjoyable.

Cloudy amber. Way too much fizz, way too much head. Woody, lemony, medicinal aroma. Very bitter, earthy like drinking topsoil. A little bit of wood but I’m not getting much. The hops aren’t at all fresh and I really don’t get much appeal out of the vague caramel malts. Doesn’t seem like you were supposed to taste them at all really. Clumsy, amateurish beer that offers me no reason to drink it.

Très belle couleur rousse et un méchant collet qui dure. Par contre son arome et son goût est plus légé que l’autre et un petit plus amère. Mais c’est toujour une bonne bière.
