| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Sep 9, 2009 Very dark copper pour, and a thick sticky head with good lacing. Great hoppy aroma boat loads of citrus, grapefruit, sweet orange, and lemon. There is also some floral honey notes. The flavor is big snd bold lots of hops and sweet honey. The mouth feel is thick and viscous. This is a big beer. The hops are on par with a double ups but the malt bill and alcohol make it fall short. A little one dimensional but I’m pretty sure that was the point. Outstanding beer for the hop head in all of us. Flamojune (93), Ville de Quebec, Quebec, Canada

href=http://www.ratebeer.com/ViewUser.asp?U target=blank>Rastacouere, thanks David. Rich copper in colour, very long lasting beige coloured head, lots of lace. The aroma is quite hoppy (lots of pine, citrus), some caramel sweetness as well. The flavour is of pink grapefruits, pine, orange citrus, caramel malt balance. Chewy, bitter mouthfeel, medium sized body, high carbonation. The finish is long with a lingering moderate bitterness. Very enjoyable. tiggmtl (4311), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Oct 4, 2005 Earthy, grapefruit, orange, resinous pine, floral hops with ample crystal malts. Clear copper coloured body is topped by generous off white head that recedes to lasting cover and coats the glass beautifully. Orange, floral, earthy, resinous pine hop flavour with very strong bitterness that flirts with roughness without crossing the line. Plenty of caramel malt sweetness and toasted malt character. Medium full body with soft though lively effervescence. Half pint glass. Allowed to warm from fridge temp. Bottle (Peluso, Oct-05). Eructoblaster (1510), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada

Very pleasant hoppy aroma with malty, spicy and fruity (melon, grapefruit, pineapple) notes. Dry hoppy taste with various fruity notes and a creamy texture. It ends with a long and sharp bitter finish. Thanks to PrimeMinister for that excellent IPA! hopdog (5622), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA

Poured a deep and cloudy amber color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of oranges, pine with some light caramel. Tastes of oranges, pine, some grapefruit and some caramel. I expected this to be a hop bomb, but it really wasn’t overly bitter and a decent balance to it. Reading my review of the ’regular’ Cascade, I pretty much said the same thing as for this one. That being said, I did enjoy this one. papat444 (17), St-Constant, Quebec, Canada

Aroma: Mild bitter smell, not much else.
Appearance: Pale gold, hay-like color. Nice thick head forms.
Flavor: Wow, hops hit you strong, very bitter (that’s a good thing)
Palate: The overpowering bitter & acidity lasts well into the final sips. In fact, i still had the taste on my tongue a good couple of minutes later. As it warms though, the sting is a lot more mellow.
Overall: Very good sipping beer & drinking it is no problem as i’m discovering my inner hophead! Very good beer from a brewer that i am starting to really enjoy. If hoppy beers are not your strength, go for something else. Me, i would definitely go for this one again.
