Sweet caramel malt hits me first as I bring this rich dark copperfrothy topped beer toward me. Some citrus edginess creeps in but it can’t overcome the toasty malts. Grapefruit freshnessness mixes with sweet warming touches and linger, coating the mouth nicely. JPDIPSO (4922), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 29, 2005 Hazed dark copper color with a tall head of light tan bubbles. Mildly oxidized hops in the aromas, along with mild earthy caramel and citrus. rather balance brew, but the malt is not really found, there is a small amount of sweetness, but nearly a brown sugar type. Another very dry IPA. Mild dry malt finish. Some more green hops late. This one gains some more character as it warms. Light fruit and mild peat malt. Another easy drinking IPA from beerbuzzmontreal. Malty aroma caramel, toast, light plummy fruit mixed with fresh citrusy hops, grapefruit, and a touch of pine. Flavour is well balanced, citrusy hops, a touch of pinyness and resin mixed with sweet toffeeish malt. Light vanilla and woody character add complexity. Very good. joeycapps (1466), Waterdown, Ontario, Canada
