Sampled from 355 ml bottle and shared by MatSciGuy. Pours a semi-hazy reddish amber brew with a thin tan head that quickly dissipates to an off-white ring. Aroma of dark caramel, raisins, flowery hops, some banana esters, yeast and dark pitted fruits. Taste is medium to full bodied, fruity, with flavors of roasted caramel malt, raisins, a hint of brown sugar and yeast. Finish has a mild yeast and brown sugar aftertaste.

This is an excellent dubbel, one of the best I have had. It is indistinguisable from a real Belgian, and this is due to the yeast, which is very Belgian in flavor and aroma. Yeast and fruit aroma. Flavor is full with malt, and some dried fruit. Thick palate, a little sweet.

Tastes and smells a bit like a scotch ale indeed. Strong caramel aroma, very interesting, and a beautiful lightly see through appearance. Sugary taste. Caramel, maple syrup, brown sugar. Fruity also, although quite bitter, especially in the finish. Some sour and spicy notes also. I’m not sure. Yet.

341 ml bottle from a trade with glouglouburp. brassin one. pours a deep slightly hazy burgundy with a short lived tan head, but a constant ring of tan and some soapy splotches. aromas of dark fruits, plums and raisons, some yeast. big and full bodied, lots of dark fruit and hint of chocolate. yeasty character and true to a good dubble. big but soft, no alcohol to speak of. im very impressed by this. sip this one or you might get into trouble.

Bouteille de 341ml, acheté chez Peluso en octobre 08. Brune caramel brumeuse, petit collet.

Shared with Pyrozoid. Cloudy dark copper poor with a thin brown frothy head. Aromas of figs, grapes, cinnamon, brown sugar, cherries and toffee. Full flavored, thick creamy, alcohol, very well balanced overall and long lasting aftertaste. Complexe flavors... mostly same as aromas... very sweet (caramel - brown sugar - maple syrup).... various spices as well. Very impressive overall.
