Deep, super-dark chocolate aroma, raspberries, but a little weak. A very nice subtle roast in the flavor, especially the finish, but there is definitely a bad lactic sourness that seriously holds this beer back.

Thanks to Boutip for this. Aroma is a ton, nay, a megaton of toffee. Really nice scent. Black body with a thick head. Thin palate. Very tangy thin coffee flavor with some weak toffee tastes. A let down atfter the great aroma.

Vintage 2004: Poured an opaque black with a small creamy brown head. Creamy dark chocolate aroma. Some aged malt . Sweet and thick with a touch of aged soy character. Roasted malt with a light tartness and some chocolate but not as much as the aroma. The body is on the thin side for how it smelled. i thought this was going to be huge after the aroma.

2005 bottle. Pours dark brown with a slightly lighter brown head. Smells of cherries, chocolate, pepper and caramel. Tastes of chocolate, pepper, cherries and has some underlying sourness. Mouthfeel is slick with a sweet finish.

Perhaps a bit cold, but the last bottle from your man martinT. Aroma is roasted coffee and hints of toffee, but not harsh. Taste is similar with a good bit of toffee and coffee in there coming over the roasty malts, perhaps a hint of chocolate, but not as much as id havce liked. Spankingly good beer.

Thanks to Taktik_MTL. 2006 vintage bottle. This was an incredibally drinkable beer and was great all around. Poured thick like oil but developed a nice looking light brown head that faded into a thin creamy layer that stayed for the remainder of the beer. Aroma is of choclate covered fruit. Palate is a full mouthfeel with no noticeable carbonation but it doesn’t feel flat, finishes with a creamy thickness. Really enjoyed this to be bad it’s only available in Canada.
