Woah, thats different as a beer. Rich coffee aroma, dark appearance, foammy head, rich taste of coffee and dark chocolate. Not bad at all.

Bottle (2005B): Courtesy of HogTownHarry via trade. Great aroma. Loaded with dark chocolate with notes of black licorice, roastiness, coffee, and nuts. Pours a thick dark brown, virtually black, with a small brown head that fades quickly. Flavor has lots of chocolate up front with hints of black licorice. Roasted grain in the middle. Finishes with lots of roasted coffee and a touch of pine bitterness. A little thin for an Imperial and suprisingly so after watching the pour. Makes me think of a toned down Dark Horse Imperial Stout.

Bottle courtesy of HogTownHarry. 2005B Vintage. After my "mini swill tasting" I needed to treat myself to something good and boy did this ever fill the bill! Pours a beautiful looking black with a large lasting foamy brown head -- man that looks great. Complex and full aroma with lots of chocolate, roasted malt, coffee and hops -- awesome, simply one of the best smelling Imperial Stouts I’ve had. Flavour’s quite hoppy along with dark chocolate, coffee, roasted malt and alcohol -- delicious! Creamy mouthfeel and full bodied. This is an excellent Impy Stout, Bieropholie rarely dissapoints but this one is a grand-slam. Now to get more...

Probably the best imperial stoudt I have had. Most complex and unique flavors. Of course you have the roasted coffee, malt, and barley going on, but there was also a smokiness that I was not expecting. A bit of a nutty palete as well.

Bottle (341ml). via trade with turg. Jesus! - poured thick, oily black with a large brown foamy-fizzy head - almost perfect. Incredibly rich, nutty, roasty, yeasty aroma - like nutella, nutty Christmas pudding (run, raisins and burnt prunes) - and just for good measure coffee and chocolate too. Taste is extremely rich, huge masses of dark chocolate, roast strong coffee beans, bitter hops, there’s a deep richness to it and a long, bitter coffee finish. Mouthfeel is decently thick, creamy, bitter and astringent - this is a top-flight stout, everything a stout should be. Glad I have more.

Big 750ml bottle. Pitch black, gigantic incredibly dark brown head - darkest I have ever seen - what an amazing looking beer. Incredibly rich aroma of mocha coffee, very strong, some fresh coffee as well; needless to say inviting. A perfect beer so far. Rich coffee taste, roast, chocolate, long linger of coffee roast, even some hops and just a bit of alcohol. Body is medium - I wish it were thicker. Wow, a ton of flavour in this stout - raise the alcohol and give it a little more body and it will be the perfect beer.

Bottle from GonZoBeer Merci!

2005 Vintage. Pours like used motor oil: thick, black, and deadly. Dark olive head with clinging lace that sports artful, delicate patterns. Aroma is a bit of sour chocolate and coffee, with strawberries interdispersed throughout. Flavor is a rush of coffee, chocolate, and tart, roasted malt. Damn good! A bit smoky, too. Palate flows like a stream down a mountain in Colorado. I’d love more of this.

2005B...thanks to turg for the trade. Pours black with about a two finger head chestnut colored head from a very vigorous pour...some serious lacing from the fastly disappearing head. Aroma is fairly complex...lots of chocolate and cream, not so much coffee, and some slight notes of dried fruit. Flavor is fruity and chocolatey...so much fruit wow. There is the slightest bit of coffee and earthy bitterness in the aftertaste as well. Mouthfeel is like an oilslick. This baby coats my entire tongue and leaves that tasty starchy chocolate malt taste lingering...making me want to drink this fucker up like it is easy to find. Really good beer.
