Dark thin foamy chocolate head and midnight black colour. Chocolate malt aroma. Smooth, clean, malty chocolate, No bitterness. Easy too drink. Not as filling as you’d expect given appearance. Alcohol is blended in so well, you feel you can drink a 750ml no prob, oh yeah, I just did.

Thanks to Glouglouburp for the bottle!
"I wanna see the sun blotted out from the sky" black with a thin dark tan head, oily soon after it’s gone. Nose has some bitter notes, mainly coffee and chocolate. Flavor has both plus some laid back fruit and quasi-brandy, almost like chocolate and brandy covered cherries. Moderate body, very smooth. Not wildly complex, but very pleasant.

Bottle thanks to Daknole! Rich dark black with an espresso head. Mocha-rich and coffee-like and filled with fruity delight. Dried cherries and creaminess with just enough acidity to keep it interesting. Yum.

Damn this is good shit. Thanks to Glouglouburp for this wonderful beer. Black pour with a small brown head. Aroma has great molasses notes, some salty scotch and chocolate are noticeable not only in the nose but on the tongue as well. This beer got better and better with each and every sip. Damn I wish I had more.

Une des bonnes Imperial stout disponible au Québec mais je la trouve un peu "watery", trop vanillée, très peu surprenante de leur part, après avoir gouté à laur trois derniers brassins, 06 à 08. It’s good, but maybe I like imperial stouts stronger in alchool, more powerful in taste, with less vanilla and with a thicker texture... Let me be mean... Is it an over-rated brewer? I don’t know anymore...ADDED: Just bought 3 six-packs of 2005b. Got thicker. And better. There’s still that yeasty Bieropholie taste as in Mackroken Flower or S but it is less agressive and more enjoyable. I raised the score a little...

11.2oz bottle from Glouglouburp - thanks, Dany! Another winner from this fine brewery. Very viscous pour, motor oil and milkshake, with a thin but insistent head and sticky lacing. Strong bitter chocolate nose with a nicely rounded roast profile too. Thick mouthfeel, easy drinking, even if the fine flavor doesn’t quite capture the subtleties in the nose. Good one!

341 ml bottle in Guiness pint. Pours really black. tiny creamy chocolate colored head.Aroma is roasted, hint of chocolate. Taste is a nice sourness at first, roasted and some weetness after. Long finish with a bit of bitterness at the end. Very enjoyable, well balanced ! Wanted more after finishing it ! Rating no 19. 120209

(Rating #2211)
