No marks at the top and 7.7%.<br /> 2007 vintage: Maniacs asked for a thicker version. Here it is. We are not responsible if your tongue stays black. 7.9%. 2008 :More of everything and a bit more on the roasted than on the chocolate.

bottle by way of glouglouburp... code states 2006 but abv% is 7.9% so it’s the 2007??... but, mix no words about the pour. it is viscous and black! molasses colored body with a small brick red tinted brown head which fades to nothing in under six minutes. lots of dark and roasty malts in the aroma mix with chocolate, wood, vanilla, coffee, brown sugar, molasses and a light smokiness. the flavor is crazy robust and rich... sweet palate but well worth it!... chocolate, molasses, soy/salt/umami, dark grain and black raisins with a dry astringent/aspirin-like finish. loads of whole roasted coffee beans in the finish. medium to full body... it’s quite thick yet still dry with a soft texture and creaminess on the tongue. this thing is like a kick in the face... a delicious kick...

[1253-20080404] 341mL bottle. Roasted bandaid aroma has coffee and caramelized molasses malt. Dark dark red brown body with a medium-lasting creamy dark red-tan head. Very roasted dark coffee molasses flavour with some continued bandaid notes. Full body is dry and thick. Good, interesting with its thick oomphiness.

Bottle, thanks after4ever! Pours opaque black with a lacy brown head. Full body, light carbonation. Sweet coffee, chocolate and brown sugar taste with a softly bitter finish.

341ml brown bottle from Goldorak, guessing this is the 2007 vintage since abv on bottle states 7.9%. Super black pour, tight but compact light brown head, creamy. It settles down quite a bit to a light foam on the surface. Rich cocoa aroma. Flavour is dark coffee with sugar, caramel, molasses and chocolate syrup. Finish is roasty, dry, mild bitterness. Full clingy, slick body. Sticks to the glass. Mild, tight carbonation. Quite nice lower abv version of the style.

Bottle (thanks to Kevin for sharing) poured a translucent black with red highlights and a small diminishing amber head. Aromas of coffee, bitter chocolate, roasted malt and cinnamon. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of coffee, bitter chocolate and dark fruit with a smooth lingering bittersweet finish.

Kinda dissappointing for an Impy Stout!

This was a bottle i had gotten from a friend who brought it back fron canada and gave me for a birthday present,i had never heard of it befire and was a surprise to it it poured thick and black with almost no head and had hints of lots of chocolate and was rich and creamy and lots of roasted malts not a bad beer and not to strong for a IPS,but was well received.CHEERS!

330. Thanks, Glouglouburp! Pours black, thick, and oily. Dense but shallow super-dark tan head; nearly black. Settles quickly to a slim rim. Huge dense roasty nose--plenty of chocolate there as well. Hints of prunes lurking about on top of that. Rich creamy thick body. Powerful roasty flavors and chocolate on the mid-palate as well. Fades into a huge cocoa finish. Definitely subtler and more complex than listing a couple of taste descriptors might imply, but at the same times keeps only a couple of flavors right at the forefront. Beautifully conceived and executed.

Bottle. Pours a dark brown color with a thick creamy head. Aroma is chocolate, caramel, dark fruit, and a little hops. Flavor is that with a thin roastyness to the stout. A great Imperial stout.
