Commercial Description:
A copper-colored beer, a jewel scintillating in your glass, complex hop aromas, malt up the ying-yang and an aftertaste which endlessly proliferates a wise mix of hops. In short, the exact contrary of a "Dry". The "With Aftertaste" mentioned on the bottle is not an error in marketing judgment. It is a voluntary and defiant, non-traditional piece of counter-marketing. A kind of warning to "Dry" lovers; "Don't touch this! This is not for you!" In the future, we may only indicate "With taste", which could be more precise and less defiant. All in all, you'll love it.

IPA sirupeuse, fruiter et un peu carameliser. Le houblon balance bien. Syrupy, fruity and a bit caramelized IPA. Hops are weel balanced.

20080728 12oz bottle shared with dickinsonbeer. Wow. Horrible aroma and flavor of cooked canned green beans. Offputting flavors of old peat and mud. Amazing that Paul and I agreed for once on a terrible beer. Too bad, I seem to usually like the Bieropholie stuff.

Bottle from Terroirs. Pours a golden brown, with a caramel-hoppy aroma. Flavor had bold notes of sweet, darker fruit, with a delicious hoppiness throughout. All flavors were rounded with some sweetness, with the more traditional bitter hop notes only showing through at the very end. A very well-made brew, beautiful balance and juicy fruit character.

Bottled. Poured perfecly clear amber with a dusting of white head and some spotty lacing. The aroma picked up juicy medium-skinned fruit and perfumey hoppage over a candy-like caramel backing. The flavor had caramel and fruity sweetness at the core (not as sweet as the nose) with sticky citrus, perfume, and spicier floral bitterness around.. moderate level of bitterness.. finished a little warm and spicy with sticky fruit sweetness hanging around. Medium-bodied on the palate with low carbonation.. long impression on the finish, but it was just OK.

(Raring #1973)

(Bottle) Pours a deep mahogany body with a small beige head. Aroma of nuts, chocolate, grape, and toffee. Flavor of nuts, toasted malt, cocoa, caramel, and grassy hops with a dry, bitter finish.

(Bottle). Earthy aroma. Dark orange copper color with small off-white head. Flavor is somewhat sweet, restrained citrus, and lacks the aggressive bitter bite of other IPAs. To my taste, falls somewhere between an IPA and an APA. (Actually, tastes a lot like Anchor Liberty Ale.) Very tasty and refreshing, but not an especially impressive exemplar for the style.
