I tried this at Mondial in June but my rating was a little bit sparse on details so I thought I’d wait until I got a better sample...and here I am. Body is a deep copper-orange with a luscious off-white frothy head and leaving sheets of sticky lace. yeast sediment. Plentiful hop aroma, resiny juicy hops with a hearty underlying biscuit malt structure. a slight metallic note too. This is certainly well-hopped, big leafy hops with a long lingering finish. I think there is some semblance of balance through the bready malts though it doesn’t quite cover it. Still a very tasty brew that I could drink time and time again. Good sweet malt and bitter hops, well balanced with a long, dry, bitter finish. Not too shabby overall. daboskabouter (1470), Fergus, Ontario, Canada
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 18, 2005 Beautiful shining dark amber colour, actually closer to a copper color. The head is quite large and lasting with an off-white colour. Light chocolate notes at the front of the nose, lightly fruity with a nice slightly citrusy tinge. Very smooth body with a nice choclatey sweetness at the front that moves quickly into a citrusy bitterness that lasts till the end. The hops work well with the malt with a nice sweetness that backs up an otherwise pretty bitter beer. I like. Walt (2289), Chicago, Illinois, USA

Pleasent undertones of caramel and toffee. Very earthy throughout. Not particularly challanging, but not bad. Thanks Springslicker. presario (2983), Calgary, Alberta, Canada
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 14, 2005 Malt and hop aroma. Spicy hop start to the flavour. Rough edged hop middle. Light body at the finish but the hops are lasting. Overall the hops are a little harsh. You get used to it halfway through the first glass and can find the sweetness underneath. Still doesn’t have the tastiness that makes you want a second.
