The best I have ever or will ever taste? Quite posibly. More of a bitter or a esb than and ipa, but enough malt to pass as identified. Pours a deep copper, off white whispy head that settles to a tight web, clings to the glass all the way down. Cristal Clear ale. Rich british bitter hops on the nose, slight malt. Med-low carbonation, palate of ultra fine sandpaper. First taste is REALY bitter hops, tounge numbingly bitter. tiny hint of caramel malt hiding in the corner. Second taste chocloate malt, smoke, more bitter. Aftertaste WOW, bitter nutty, more bitter. No fule notes to speek of. Only one problem. It’s too strong. 6%abv. A heavy bitter drinker wants the abv. around 4.2%-4.5%. 3-4 bottles and the head gets overly fluffy, but other than that, a perfect ale. Get this one, as much as you can. As for me, it takes me over a hour on the bus to get to the one store I have found that stocks this one, just to fit 8-12 in my backpack, for the long back hurting ride home. I concider this trip well worth is once a week. Get this beer, if you like bitter that is. Best bitter around. Cheers. Sammy (4062), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Crisp refreshing not-too-dry aftertaste, not bitter. Wonderful with meat sub or most fish. Well-made balance. Miguel (1181), Saint-Ours, Quebec, Canada

Wow! Très ronde et bien balancée. Merveille! 3Vandoo (16), Quebec, Canada
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Feb 1, 2006 A nice amber beer in color with a great foamy head that is creamy. Some reddish light hues travel that beer. A nice malty, caramel smells are present with a decent hoppist flavours that are also noticable.
Some caramel flavours are present, with malt, but a decent hop presence is there too that makes herself shown. Some citrus flavours, a shy floral presense is also there. The presence of alcohol is quite decent too, I can feel it. A nice mouthfeel and very drinkable beer!
nice IPA les gars! DocLock (4648), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA

Aroma of piney hops, florals, black pepper, fruit. Tastes very hoppy, with some florals, black pepper, and hints of caramel, fruit, and even chocolate. Well balanced, with complex aroma and taste, this is one for the ages. PhillyBeer2112 (2089), Orange Park, Florida, USA

Nicely balanced and complex aroma, earthy malts and plenty of hops: piney, cannabis, tobacco, maybe some grapefruit. Surprisingly malty and rounded palate, balanced finish with a resounding smack of bitterness lingering in the throat. Somewhat mineral content as well. Hoppiness: dry, crisp, constant throughout the mouth. Not fresh or sweet particularly, just dry. Good, tasty and refreshing stuff. JoeMcPhee (5030), Jackson Heights, New York, USA

Lovely caramel, cookie dough, and biscuit malt aromas. Faint vanilla and milk chocolate in here as well. Sweet malty start, with cookie dough malts leading into an earthy spice and orange citrus hoppy flavour before a bracingly bitter finish. Wonderfully complex and very well-balanced. The malt/hop profile here reminds me of Arrogant Bastard, but slightly subdued. Thanks Tiggmtl
