Long arrière goût. Palette: Corps plein avec une texture sirupeuse. Moyenne effervescence en bouche. Arrière goût d’alcool. (Rating # 156)

Dark amber. Medium bodied with substantial alcohol input that damages overall the effect . This brew was not smooth at all, not in my type ..

(Bottle) I wished this bottle had a freshness date on it as it poured FLAT and has no carbonation in it. I bought it from only Metro Joannette 6 days ago? The nose is more of a mild barleywine than that of the Scotch Ales I know but perhaps this was designed as a cross-over beer. I enjoy the strong fig maltiness and fruity grapes. The flavour is not harsh at all for a 9.5% - just a lingering roasted malt flavour on the tongue. Good but could be improved upon.

341 ml bottle courtesy Lubiere. Dark red brown colour with a frothy tan head. Toffee, fruity, brown sugar, and lightly smoky aroma. Toffee, dark fruits, and brown sugar flavours with a lightly smoky and alcohol finish. Full bodied, chewy, but a bit hot.

Red-brown to accajou colour; little yellowish rim as head. Grapes; rather serious American hops for a Scotch Ale; sweet-bitter nose, lots of caramel, and roasted notes. Fiery roasted caramel flavour; getting more and more toffee-like, but in the end handing over to the hops, ending metallic-bitter. Well-bodied, some alcoholburn. Quite good beer even with slight unbalance, but nothing really outstanding. And definitely a tad too much alcohol for this style - and even more so if I look at this picture!! Thanks to Lubière.

Copper with ruby highlights and a small light tan head. Aroma is of smoked, roasted and caramel malt. Flavor is of sweet that lingers. Alcoholic warmth with toffee notes, very sweet, too sweet for my liking.

Bottle: Orange, ruby, brown color with hardly any head. Rich malty aroma with some smokiness and alcohol, starts and ends sweet, long rich aftertaste. Thanks MartinT!

Bottle shared with jercraigs and blankboy. Strong sweet malt aroma, with a strong wine like smell as well. Dark ruby red pour, although at first glance, it looks thin. Very strong initial taste - eye watering alcohol. Kind of mellow as it goes and gives way to those expected Scotch characteristics - caramel sweetness, hint of smoke and chocolate. A very pleasant surprise - exactly how I would like my future homebrew scotch ale to turn out!
